Pick, Prediction, & Preview:
Chicago Cubs vs Colorado Rockies
The Cubs will hit the road to Colorado as they will face off against the Rockies, who have an impressive road record at 5-2 but not the best home record at 2-4 as the Cubs will look to take advantage and steal one on the road.
Chicago Cubs 's Latest Performance :
The Chicago Cubs has yet to find any consistency starting off the season 8-8. The snow days off helped the Cubs regroup in the hitting department Jason Heyward hit a two-run homer as the Cubs get back in the win column, snapping the Cardinals five-game winning streak.
The Cubs are starting to regain their confidence in their hitting as all nine starters recorded at least one hit for the Cubs. Despite the inconsistency schedule, the hitting coach is sure to keep the guys busy on their day off so they have time to work on their craft and be ready for game time.
Heyward home run was one to remember he struck the ball at 110.7 mph sailed as high as 423 feet tied for his second-longest home run. Javier Baez currently leads the team in RBIs at 16 and has 5 homers already this season, this goes to show that the rest day really helped the team immensely as the results are starting to pile in for Cubs.
Taking the pitching duties is Quintana in his last outing, Quintana pitched 2 1/3 innings, his shortest start since Sept. 2, 2013, vs. the Yanks. Part of the problem was the weather as it was wet and cold at Wrigley.
Colorado Rockies's Latest Performance :
The Rockies are back home after they went 5-2 at Washinton and Pittsburgh.
Colorado is a much better team on the road this season at 9-5 and only 2-4 at home.
Jon Gray is struggling to find his form losses at home to Padres and the Nationals really shun his confidence level his ERA has ballooned to 6.23 compare to the old stats he once averaged 2.64 ERA and 80 strikeouts huge difference this tells us that his pitching struggles are a mental issue that can be fixed only if the focus and stick to the fundamentals.
In the Batting department, Blackmon leads the team in 13 RBIs this season hitting an impressive 7 homers look for him to have an impact playing back in front of his own crowd. Since Blackmon has taken over Arenado place he has been playing really well batt average at 0.316 with three homers and 7 RBIs. He has a chance to be the No. 1 batter. Blackmon prefers not to go back and forth because that will ruin the normal routine for the batter as the Rockies are trying to develop a winning culture for the franchise.
The Rockies are currently the league leaders in home runs at 27. Playing at home should allow them to build on that number even more.
German Marquez taking pitching duties in this game, devastating combination of a mid-to-upper 90s fastball and a mid 70s curve helped Marquez baffle the Pirates to the tune of two hits and six strikeouts in six innings of a win in his last start.

Against The Spread Selection: Colorado Rockies
My reason for the pick :
Although the batting for the Cubs is getting better you have to always remember pitching wins you games. Due to how inconsistent the Cubs are, I am going with the Rockies to win at home as they look to build on the most home run made this season currently at 27.
