Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

Atlanta Braves vs Cincinnati Reds

The Reds will welcome the Brave to the Great American Ballpark as they try to reset things after firing their head coach Bryan Price and try to have a different outlook on what has a been a disappointing season for them so far. For the Braves they will be looking to build on what has been a solid start for them because they have the pieces to make a great team.

Atlanta Braves 's Latest Performance :

Tyler Flowers will start his rehab with the Triple-A and his replacement will be Kurt Suzuki he has a batting average of 0.311 with a 0.400 on-base percentage with home runs and 9 RBIs.

Ender Inciarte after hitting the walk-off to secure the win against the Mets making it Atlanta’s second walk-off win of the season Inciarte now has 6 RBIs in this season. Johan Camargo who scored a triple to tie the game will look to continue his dominance against the struggling Reds team as he was able to grab his first RBI of the season.

The Braves continue to excel at the plate, ranking 4th in the league with 5.63 runs per game. Their pitching has also been superb, averaging a  3.29 team ERA, ranking them 6th.

Julio Teheran went as far as the 7th inning with a total of 6K and one walk, he is also starting to find his form again. Freddie Freeman should be able to exploit the Reds bad pitching as he is looking to build on his double performance against the Mets. Also, Preston Tucker should have a great game against the Reds as he is the leading the team in RBIs at 18 this season.

Matt Wisler taking charge of the mound, Wisler earned a chance to stay in the rotation with the impressive 7-inning effort he made in place of Anibal Sanchez on Thursday vs. the Mets. He attacked the strike zone with his fastball and found a good feel for his slider in the later innings.

Cincinnati Reds's Latest Performance :

The Reds are hoping to pick things up after firing their coach Bryan Price, they are currently 0-12 in their last 12 games and it won’t get better anytime soon they have scored just 34 runs over that stretch, with 10 of those runs coming in one game. This is a very bad team it is not only their batting that needs fixing but so does their pitching having allowed just 3.00 RPG over their last five games.

The Reds are ranked 29th in scoring, 27th in hitting and 28th in homers at only 11 this season.

The Reds currently stand at 3-17 matching the worst 20-game start to a season in franchise history. Things won’t get better for the Reds they will have to start focusing on the bigger picture and develop their young guys and turn them into potential franchise players and with the return of Scott Schebler allows the Reds to run a four-man outfield like they did to start the season and hopefully with Schelber back they will be able to pull off some stops to ease the pressure off the batter.

Tyler Mahle will be in charge of the mound, he is trying to snap a three-start losing streak, Mahle hopes to build off his last outing when he gave up two runs over five innings in a 2-0 loss to Milwaukee. He will be making his first career start against the Braves.

How Atlanta Braves & Cincinnati Reds Matchup.

The Braves are 3-8 in their last 11 road games vs. a right-handed starter.

Against The Spread Selection: Atlanta Braves

My reason for the pick :

The Reds are struggling and I don’t see them bouncing back anytime soon because it will take a while for the new coach to settle in and implement a new system that will take a long time for the Reds to do it will be a working progress. You rather take this route and be great than being stuck in the middle tier forever. The Brave should win this game with ease.

Betting trends for Atlanta Braves :

  • The Braves are 4-4 when playing on the road this season.

Betting trends for Cincinnati Reds:

  • The Reds are 1-7 in their last 8 home games.
