Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

Chicago Cubs vs Cleveland Indians

The Cubs will make their return in Cleveland for the first time since game 7, this will bring back a lot of memories and they are hoping to create new ones as the two teams face off once again, both teams should put up a good fight.

Chicago Cubs 's Latest Performance :

The Cubs are having a rough start and it wasn’t what they were hoping for starting the season off 10-9.  The Cubs coming into this game ranked 3rd in scoring at 5.82 RPG  and ranking 5 at hitting at .257. With Javier Baez leading the team in RBIs at 23 and 7 homers this season. The Cubs are coming off series wins against the Rockies as they will travel to Cleveland to face the Indians hoping to keep the momentum going.

Kris Byrant got hit in the helmet but shows signs of no concussion he will travel with the team to Cleveland. Albert Almora put on quite a performance for the Cubs saving two critical runs by robbing Nolan Arenado in the first and the highlight was when he sprinted back and makes a fantastic catch before crashing into the center field wall. This catch shows the amount of heart Almora has for this Cubs team to sacrifice his own body like he did is amazing. That kind of effort is something you simply cannot teach.

Cubs are learning how to close out games as Brandon Morrow ended the game on a saving pitch as the Cubs scrapped a 9-7 win over the Rockies. If the Cubs are able to develop a closer mentality in close games this is will benefit them in the long term.

The Cubs will make their return to Cleveland for the first time since Game 7 of the 2016 World Series.

Taking the mound in this game will be Jon Lester. Lester will be back in Cleveland for the first time since Game 7 of the 2016 World Series when he pitched three innings in relief. The lefty, who’s coming off a win over the Cards, is 4-0 with a 3.72 ERA in 8 regular-season starts in Cleveland.

Cleveland Indians's Latest Performance :

The Indians are starting to pick things up as their record stands at 11-8 on the season, the reason behind the Indians recent success is Carlos Carrasco. He has started the season off 3-0 with a 2.60 ERA through four starts this season. Corey Kluber who has also been great for the Indians with 37 strikeouts already this season. Kluber only gave up 3 runs on six hits while striking out four batters with an ERA of 1.96.

Jose Ramirez has been on a tear with 7th multiple home run game of his career. Ramirez is the hardest batter to fan in the Major League. Ramirez batting average has gone up to 0.221 and he has 5 homers already to start the year.  The Indians like to run this season they have already stolen 21 bases.

The Indians got a string of quality pitchers what they have to now is sync the batters and pitchers so they are able to gel as a team and they need to find offense not only from Ramirez, meaning Alonso, Lindor and Brantley will need to step up if their number is called to take charge of the Indians offense.

Trevor Bauer will control the mound for the Indians, Bauer will be tasked with outdueling Cubs lefty, Jon Lester. Bauer has completed at least seven innings and allowed three or fewer earned runs in each of his last three starts.
