Pick, Prediction, & Preview:
Philadelphia Phillies vs Miami Marlins
The Marlins will welcome the Phillies to the Marlin Park as both teams will face off against each other in a 3 game series with Phillies winning the first outing 2-1.
Philadelphia Phillies's Latest Performance :
The Phillies will begin their 6 games road trip as their first opponent is the Miami Marlins who are currently playing well in these last few games. The Phillies were projected to be good this year in the NL East and they have not disappointed, they are one game behind the Mets in the loss column.
The Phillies are a really strong offensive team coming in at 8th averaging 4.96 RPG.
The league is buzzing after they saw the catch made by Herrera to prevent the homer, he has been playing well as of late his hitting average stands at .344 with 13 RBIs this season. The catch he made was something we will remember in a long time. He is also the best batter on the team so to see him pull out something like that on the field is really impressive and the fans will remember that catch for many years to come.
Nick Pivetta should bounce back against the Marlins as he allowed 6 hits and 4 runs and 3 walks in 5 innings the previous start. Coming in he had a 1.88 ERA and has not dropped a game in the previous four starts striking out 25. I believe that it is just a small slip up as he should be fine the next game.
Miami Marlins's Latest Performance :
The Marlins has picked up convincing wins against the Dodgers and hoping to keep winning train going. Wei-Yin Chen hasn’t started in over a year he only allowed one run in 5 1/3 innings. This is the perfect example of always be ready because you never know when your number is going to be called Chen saw the opportunity and he did not disappoint as the Marlins has now won 3 of their last 4 games.
The Marlins starters have been impressive in their last six starts the rotation has a combined 1.57 ERA over 34 1/3 innings. They have allowed two or fewer runs in six straight starts and one or less in five in a row including 39K.
Batting has to improve for the Marlins as they average only 3.24 runs per game. Starlin Castro has to play better for the Marlins. He is hitting .298/.364/.333 with six RBI and eight runs scored in the early going this season. He’s still searching for his first home run and has collected just two extra-base hits (both doubles) in 57 at-bats this season.
J.T. Realmuto has gotten off to a hot start after returning from injury hitting .353/.421/.706 with four homers in his first nine games look for him to play well against the Phillies.
Taking the mound will be Jarlin Garcia. He has been the team’s best overall pitcher, first pitching in long relief, and now being in the rotation. He has a 0.53 ERA in 17 innings as a starter. Overall, he’s allowed three runs (two homers) in 27 innings, with 20 strikeouts and 12 walks.
How Philadelphia Phillies & Miami Marlins Matchup.

Marlins are 2-8 in their last 10 home games vs. a team with a winning record.
Phillies are 20-7 in their last 27 games following a loss.
Against The Spread Selection: Philadelphia Phillies
My reason for the pick :
The Phillies should be able to pick up the win against the Marlins on the road, even though the Marlins has been winning games but there aren’t any trends of consistency yet and base on ATS they have performed worst after a win because they have reverted back to their old habits.
Phillies to beat the Marlins on the road.
