Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

Texas Rangers vs Cleveland Indians

The Indians will continue their homestand as they welcome the Rangers to the Progressive Field.  The Rangers are currently on a 3 game winning streak and hoping to carry their previous series win into this one.

Texas Rangers's Latest Performance :

The Texas Rangers are hoping to carry the previous series win into this one as they will play the Indians at Progressive Field. The Rangers is currently sitting in the last place in the AL West. However, things are starting to get better for the Rangers have won 3 games in a row for the first time this year.

Colon picked up his first win of the year and was perfect through his first three innings he now has an ERA of 2.87. Robinson Chirinos returns to the team and has an immediate impact with a pair of homers look for his batting to cause havoc to the Indians batters, he now has a total of 5 homers this season. The question for the Rangers is the run a little bit too late where was this at the start of the season. This Rangers team is filled with lots of young potential including Joey Gallo who has 8 homers this season to go along with 19 RBIs this season.

The Rangers should not look at this season as a failure but look at it as a chance to grow in the future because with all the potential they have on the team, they could become dominant in the league for many years to come.

Doug Fister will be taking the mound on the road for the Rangers. He hasn’t topped five innings yet this season but did throw a season-high 105 pitches in his last outing on April 25. He is returning from his injury as he will need some time to ease in until he can rediscover his old form.

Cleveland Indians's Latest Performance :

Baseball is a game of matchups some team you will play well against and others don’t matter what their record is they will still struggle. The Indians aren’t able to generate any consistency this year they tend to go on a short streak and end up losing to the teams that they are supposed to beat.  The Indians batting on paper looks great but they are currently not showing up in games with only 23 runs in 6 games.

Brantley the team best batter with a hitting average of .354 and 10 RBIs isn’t going to get the job done for the Indians. Yonder Alonso is the team leader in RBIs with 19 and 8 homers this season, he went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI during a loss to the Mariners on Saturday.

Despite the batting struggles the pitching for the Indians has been relatively good with Corey Kluber leading the way with a 2.18 ERA this season with 47 strikeouts already this season. Corey Kluber finished one out of shy of a complete game while allowing two runs over 8 2/3 innings in Friday’s 6-5 victory over the Mariners. He was pulled out after giving up a single however he should be able to continue his impressive start to the season against the Rangers.

Mike Clevinger to take the mound. He was charged with four runs on eight hits in six innings during a no-decision against Seattle on Thursday night. The righty is 13-4 with a 2.78 ERA in 26 outings as a starter over the past two seasons.
