Pick, Prediction, & Preview:
New York Yankees vs Houston Astros
The Yankees are hoping to keep their win streak alive as they are visiting the defending World Series Champ the Astro at Minute Maid Park. Both teams have been playing really well lately with the Yankees batting leading the nation and hope to send a message to the champs that they are legit and knowing the Astros they will not go down without putting up a good fight.
New York Yankees's Latest Performance :
Winners of 9 in a row the Yankees will continue their road trip as they go head to head against the defending World Series champ the Astro. The Yankees are ranked 1st in batting this season, during the 9 game win streak as they racked up 158 RBIs as the team which leads the nation. The confidence level of this Yankees team is on another level, the pitcher knows that his batters will be able to produce runs that will reduce the pressure for the pitcher is on the mound.
It is the Yankees first 9 winning streak since June 2012. Leading the way for the Yankees in the batting department is Didi Gregorius he has already 10 homers this season and 30 RBIs for this Yankees team with a batting average of 0.340. The Yankees have just been dominating teams during their 9 game win streak they have put up a total of 64 runs and they show no signs of slowing down look for the batting to continue into Houston.
Gary Sanchez is another player everyone should look out for in the Houston series, Sanchez’s last eight hits have all gone for extra bases – four homers and four doubles. He already hit 7 homers this season eight doubles and five singles.
Taking the mound for the Yankees will be Luis Severino. He worked seven innings of three-run, five-hit ball in his last start, striking out eight Angels while taking a no-decision. He faced the Astros twice in the ALCS, taking a no-decision in Game 2 and absorbing the loss in Game 6. He is the team best pitcher with an ERA of 2.61 and 42K this season. With all the praise going to the batters we must not forget that the pitchers are doing a solid job as well allowing only 18 runs during the streak.
Houston Astros's Latest Performance :
The Astros is coming off a series win against the A’s as they will continue their home stand facing off the red-hot Yankees. The defending World Series champ started the season quite well with a record of 19-10 tied last year’s team for the Astros best record through 29 games.
Gerrit Cole has been on a tear for the Astros in the month of April striking out a team record of 61 with an ERA of 1.73 with a WHIP of 0.79. Cole is the fourth pitcher in Astros history to strike out at least 60 in a single month. When two great teams are facing off it will always come down to who has a better pitcher Cole should be able to pull out some wins for the Astros when they host the Yankees, the Astros are hoping that can become the team who ends the streak.
In the batting department, Jason Altuve recorded his 26th career four-hit game, he went 4-for-5 with a double, a solo home run, two runs scored and two RBI in Saturday’s 11-0 rout against the Athletic, he should be able to make an impact against the Yankees as he is accustomed to producing RBIs for the Astros he is their best batter averaging 0.351.
Taking the mound for game 2 will be Dallas Keuchel, On Friday, He retired the first 13 A’s batters, but allowed six runs and three homers over seven innings. It’s the first time this season that he’s given up more than three runs. Still, he’s now 1-4 with a 4.00 ERA.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:
Astros are 5-0 in their last 5 vs. American League East.
Yankees are 5-0 in their last 5 vs. a team with a winning record.
Against The Spread Selection: New York Yankees
My reason for the pick :
As good as the Astros are as a team they won’t be able to stop the batting outburst of the Yankees. They are currently on a roll win it comes to producing runs and if one batter doesn’t have a good game there will be another batter filling up the spot and he is just as good. With Severino taking the mound all the odds will be favoring the Yankees to win on the road.
Yankees to win game 2 over the Astros.
