Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

New York Yankees vs Houston Astros

The Astros will welcome back the Yankees to Minute Maid Park as the two teams will face off once again for the 3rd game in a four-game series.

New York Yankees's Latest Performance :

The Yankees will look to bounce back as they had their 9 game winning streak snapped at Minute Maid Park. Sonny Gray who walked 3 and struck out 4 but was unfortunate to give up two 4 and hits which cost the Astro the game. It was a very solid outing for Gray but where were the Yankees batting in this game leading the majors in runs this season Gregorius went 0-4 in the loss but look for him to bounce back as the series progress he is too good of a batter to allow one bad game to stop him from having a bad series he has already racked up 30 RBIs this season go along with 10 homers for the Yankees.

Aaron Judge should be returning to the team as he should be able to make an instant impact in this series against the Astros his batting average is currently at 0.317 with 7 homers and 18 RBIs this season with 2 stolen base. The Yankees are hoping that the team batting will get back to normal as they were hoping to beat the Astros by their batting but was stopped by Morton’s impressive game.

Taking the mound for the Yankees will be Masahiro Tanaka. He allowed just one earned a run, two hits and two walks with a season-high nine strikeouts over six innings in a victory against the Angels on Saturday. He faced the Astros twice in the ALCS, taking a hard-luck loss in Game 1 and winning Game 5.

Houston Astros's Latest Performance :

The Astros were able to snap the Yankees 9 game winning streak at Minute Maid Park. Astro’s Charlie Morton proves to be no match for the Yankees batting. He allowed one run on two hits and two walks striking out 10 in 7 2/3 innings, Charlie put on a show for the home fans.

The Astros now improve to 20-10 on the season and starting to show signs of why they won the World Series last year, the Astros have the best starting pitchers in the league with 2.44 ERA with 226 strikeouts in 188 innings. With Verlander leading the team in pitching with an impressive 1.36 ERA and 48 strikeouts he hasn’t drop a game this season when he starts. Gerrit Cole also had a great month as he set the Astro record with 61K in the month of April alone. This year the Astros pitching team are extremely good and they complement one another so well.

The Astros will have to continue to contain Gregorius because he can go one a mean run at any time. The Yankees are leading the league in runs for reason.

The Astros will need more from their batters Altuve has to play better for the Astro as he only managed one run in the second game against the Yankees, Yuli Gurriel came through with a rare RBI double in the game but batting has to get better for the Astros as the series progresses.

Pitching for Astros will be Lance McCullers. He has allowed only two runs in his last three starts. In his last outing, a win over the A’s, McCullers threw seven shutout innings, allowing two hits while retiring his first 15 batters. He is 3-0 with a 0.90 ERA during the impressive span.
