Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

Pittsburgh Pirates vs Milwaukee Brewers

The Brewers will welcome the Pirates to Miller Park as both teams will face off in 3 games series. It will be an NL Central showdown. The Pirates looking to gain some ground after suffering yet another series sweep as for the Brewers it is a great opportunity for them to extend their lead in the NL Central.

Pittsburgh Pirates's Latest Performance :

The Pirates are on a four-game losing streak after getting swept by the Nationals. The Pirates have suffered two four-game sweeps in two weeks. The Pirates record now stands at 17-15, it isn’t a bad start but those 4 games sweep really cost the Pirates big time. They will be very glad to get out of Washington and head to play the Brewers in Milwaukee.

The Pirates will look to bounce back in Milwaukee as they were only able to score 10 runs in their last 4 games making it their second-lowest output, coming into the series with Milwaukee the Pirates are ranked 8th in the Major with 150 runs scored this season.

Leading the way for the Pirates will be Corey Dickerson. His batting average is  .315 with four homers, 20 RBI, and 17 runs in his first season with the Pirates. He went 2-for-4, drove in a pair of runs and stole a base in a loss to the Nationals on Wednesday. Look for him to redeem himself in Milwaukee.

Pitching for the Pirates will be Chad Kuhl. He threw his shortest outing of the season vs. the Nationals in his last start, surrendering four homers in 4 2/3 innings. He’ll look to right the ship against the Brewers. The righty is 2-0 with a 2.42 ERA in five starts vs. Milwaukee.

Milwaukee Brewers's Latest Performance :

The Brewers are coming off a series sweep against the Reds as they will return home to start their 5 game homestand. The Brewers has a record of 19-13 they lead the NL Central. The Brewers come in at 3rd best in the league in pitching just behind the D-Backs and the Red Sox with an impressive 3.19 ERA this season.

Wade Miley had a great debut to the season as he only allowed one run on three hits in six solid innings, he has an ERA of 1.50. Look for Christain Yelich to have a great series against the Pirates in his previous outing He went 2-for-5 with a double and a solo home run. His slash is .282/.360/.462 with three homers, 10 RBI and 15 runs on the season.

The Brewers will be playing without their key players Shaw (leg injury) and Eric Thames (injured left thumb). The other batters will have to step up during their absence. Jesus Aguilar leading the team in batting average at 0.377 with 2 homers and 9 RBIs this season, look for him to make a name for himself against the Pirates.

Taking the mound for the Brewers will be Chase Anderson, He improved to 3-2 despite struggling with his fastball command in his last start Tuesday in Cincinnati. He walked four batters and allowed four earned runs in 5 1/3 innings in a Brewers win. He has a 3.38 ERA and 27 strikeouts this season.

How Pittsburgh Pirates & Milwaukee Brewers Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

Brewers are 6-0 in their last 6 home games vs. a team with a losing road record.

Pirates are 17-35 in their last 52 road games vs. a team with a winning record.

Against The Spread Selection: Milwaukee Brewers

My reason for the pick :

The Brewers are 6-0 when playing against a team with a losing road record as the Brewers pitching would be able to handle business at home. Anderson should put on a masterful performance as the Brewers should take this one at home over the Pirates.

The Pirates hasn’t been great this season on the road going 7-10 and should struggle against this Brewers pitching 3rd best in the Majors. The Pirates are still trying to regroup after suffering from the series sweep.

Betting trends for Pittsburgh Pirates:

  • Pirates are 0-8 in their last 8 road games vs. a right-handed starter.

Betting trends for Milwaukee Brewers:

  • Brewers are 6-0 in their last 6 home games.
