Atlanta Braves vs Miami Marlins
The Series between the NL East division will resume. The Marlins will welcome back the Braves to Marlins Park as the two teams will go head to head in the 3rd game of the 4 game series.
Atlanta Braves's Latest Performance :
The Braves are now back on track after losing to the Giants in a series sweep at home. Since then they have won 3 straight games including a series sweep against the Rays and a road win over the Marlins. The Braves are still on top of the NL East division with a record of 22-14 but they have the Phillies right behind them. The Braves were able to put up 9 runs in against the Marlins in the season opener. Coming into this series the Braves are 3rd in batting they put up 5.4 runs per game and once they have regained their confidence on the plate it is very hard to stop this Brave team.
Freddie Freeman had himself a career night in the win, he went 5 for 5 with a two-run home run. He hit his sixth homer of the year in a seven-run sixth inning. He ranks among the league leaders in almost every offensive category, as Freeman and the Braves lead the NL in runs. His slash this .326/.424/.558.
The 21-year-old Ozzie Albies had a game to remember hitting his first career grand slam as he helped the Brave win 8 straight games on the road this season. He went 2 for 6 with 5 RBIs. The homer was Albies’ 11th of the year, giving him 29 RBI and 35 runs scored. The runs are the most in the National League. He also became the youngest brave to score a grand slam since 1997 nothing but praise for this young man, he will continue to the dominate this series against the Marlins because no one can stop him now. His line through 36 games is .285/.320/.589.
Pitching for the Braves will be Mike Soroka. Despite his struggles against the Giants on Sunday, he will remain on the team, look for him to redeem himself against a bad team like the Marlins. It will be a great learning experience for Mike, this will be his 3rd Major start.
Miami Marlins's Latest Performance :
The Marlins has shown signs of improvements at the end of April and beginning of May, however, since their competition has been tougher and tougher, that the Marlins can’t keep up with their level of play prior to the first game loss to the Braves the Marlins were swept by the Cubs and allow were able to put up 9 runs in that series alone, their struggles continue against the Braves as they were only able to put up 2 runs on the board. The Marlins are worst team when it comes to scoring and in the last few games showed you why through 37 games they were only managed to put up 124 runs.
Lewis Brinson was the only player on the Marlins team to play offense as he scored both of the team runs in the game, including a solo homer in the ninth. Although he has been struggling to hit this season he did show signs of improvement in the first game against the Braves. He will be hoping that he can build on this performance as the Marlins can’t seem to find offense from anyone in the team at the moment and plus they are going up against a very strong team as the Braves so it will make the scoring even more difficult for the Marlins. He is slashing 172/.229/.311 through 35 games with 12 RBIs this season.
J.T. Realmuto continues to struggle throughout the month of May after having a decent April he has yet to score an RBI this month and already 7 games had been played, the season his keeps getting worst and worst for the Marlins when it comes to scoring this season.
Pitching for the Marlins will be Jose Urena. He makes his eighth start still looking for a first win. He comes off a no-decision at the Cubs, giving up three runs in 5 1/3 innings. He is 0-5 at home this year. In his career, he is 2-3 with a 5.54 ERA against the Braves.

Marlins are 3-9 in their last 12 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600.
Braves are 6-0 in their last 6 vs. National League East.
Against The Spread Selection: Atlanta Braves
My reason for the pick :
The Braves should be able to win comfortably considering how good they are on the road this season. Albies will continue to impress in this series as he will put up big numbers in his game, Albies should be considered as an MVP candidate based on how he is playing and he is only 21 years old. The Braves might have found their next franchise player.
As for the Marlins, they will have a hard time scoring as their scoring woes will continue.
