Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

Milwaukee Brewers vs Colorado Rockies

The Rockies will welcome back the Brewers to Coors Field for the 3rd game of the 4 game series. The Rockies are 2nd in the AL West while the Brewers are 2nd in NL Central.

Milwaukee Brewers's Latest Performance :

The Brewers were able to pick up the win on the road against the Rockies, giving them a 1-0 lead in the 4 game series. The Brewers are having a solid year with a record of 22-16 if they are able to dominate the Rockies at home they have a chance to be on top of the NL Central when the series is over. They have a really good record on the road winning 12 games and only dropping 7 this season. The Brewers are 27th in scoring with 142 runs scored this season, in the last game they had no problem scoring as they put up 5 to secure the victory over the Rockies.

It all started with a Cain home run as he swung on the first pitch his homer set the tone for the entire game. Cain ended the game with a solo homer and 2 RBIs. He is now up to 5 homers this season with 12 RBIs and 21 runs scored on the year. He is slashing .283/.395/.465 this season.

Herman Perez was able to hit 2 RBIs coming from a single leading the way in the three-run rally in the 5th innings. His ability to capitalize the opportunity when runners are in scoring position is something that can help the Brewers as the season progresses because you don’t want to miss an opportunity when your runners are in scoring position all you need to do is find the gap in between the opposing team short stopper for a base hit. Herman is slashing .229/.250/.371.

Pitching for the Brewers on the Road will be Brent Suter.  Suter is 2-2 with a 4.86 ERA in six starts this year while striking out 28 this season.

Colorado Rockies's Latest Performance :

The Rockies weren’t able to protect their home court giving up a homer on their first pitch. They fall to the Brewers in the first game of the 4 game series. They were hoping to bounce back from an embarrassing shutout loss against the Angels but they weren’t able to do so they managed to only score 2 runs against the Brewers. The Rockies are 23rd in the Major when it comes to scoring they average 3.89 runs per game. Despite the two losses the Rockies are still having an impressive season so far, they are 2nd in NL West with a record of 21-17 just 4 games behind the D-Backs in the loss column. The majority of their losses come when they are playing at home they have a home record of 6-9 this season.

Trevor Story was able to hit his 8th homer of the season hitting the ball into the left-field in the second inning. The shortstop is hitting just .222 but has eight homers and seven steals. He is up to 24 RBIs this season. He seems to only play well on the road for the Rockies this season but after last night game, we might be witnessing something spectacular as he will do all he can to protect home court and come out with a series win against the Brewers.

Ian Desmond delivered a fifth-inning leadoff triple that he scored on when Brewers shortstop Orlando Arcia’s throw to third sailed out of play. He is slashing .178/.219/.372 based on his line tells the story of how much the 32-year-old Desmond has struggled in 2018 as he hopes to turn things around when they play the Brewers.

Pitching for the Rockies will be Jon Gray. He has been dominant in his last three outings, holding opponents to one run in 20 innings, with 25 strikeouts and three walks. The slider, his signature pitch, is getting better with each start.

How Milwaukee Brewers & Colorado Rockies Matchup.

Brewers are 9-1 in their last 10 when their opponent allows 5 runs or more in their previous game.

Against The Spread Selection: Milwaukee Brewers

My reason for the pick :

The Brewers should be able to come up with another win against the Rockies on the road. The Rockies home record will suffer even more as they still haven’t figured out why they can’t win at home this season.

Brewers to win on the road over the Rockies.

Betting trends for Milwaukee Brewers:

  • Brewers are 4-0 in their last 4 road games vs. a team with a losing home record.

Betting trends for Colorado Rockies:

  • The Rockies are 2-5 in their last 7 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600.
