Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

Cleveland Indians vs Detroit Tigers

The Tigers will welcome division leader Indians to Comerica Park as the two teams will go face to face in a 3 games series. This will be 2nd meeting between the two team, the first meeting ended up in an Indian sweep.

Cleveland Indians's Latest Performance :

The AL Central leaders Indians are coming off an impressive series win over the Royals as they put up 26 runs in the span of 3 games. The Indians are 7-10 on the road this season and hoping to extend the lead in the AL Central division when they go visit the Tigers. The Indians are 9th in the league in scoring with 190 runs scored this season. The Indians have one of the best batting lineups in the league Ramirez, Brantley, and Lindor. These trios should be a handful for the Tigers.

Francisco Lindor went 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored. He has now 14 doubles this season. In his last two games, he has picked up seven hits, three extra-base hits and scored five runs. He is slashing .321/.378/.600 with 25 RBIs and 12 homers. Lindor should be able to dominate any pitcher the Tigers throw at him that is how well he is batting right now.

Jose Ramirez went 2-for-3 with a 3 run homer and a stolen base. He also walked twice. The homer gives him 12 on the season, and the steal is his sixth on the 2018 campaign. He is slashing .287/.378/.600 this season.

Lindor and Ramirez finished a combined 5 for 7 with a pair of doubles and a home run. They now both have 12 home runs, just by looking at this stat the Tigers will have to find ways to contain these two batters.

Pitching for the Indians on the road will be Trevor Bauer. He gets the start in Detroit. In his last start against the Royals, Bauer struck out three in 4 2/3 innings and gave up five runs (four earned) on 11 hits.

Detroit Tigers's Latest Performance :

The Tigers are coming off a walk-off win over the Mariners, they now have a record of 17-22 placing them 3rd in the AL Central division. It is the fourth walk-off victory in 39 games played. Coming into this series the Tigers are 17th in pitching with an ERA of 4.26 this season. The Tigers are 10-9 on the season at home and will have a chance to cut into the Indians lead for the top spot in the AL Central.

Tigers are dealing with a lot of their key players being injured that is why you see the team recruiting players from the Minors to fill up the roster. One good thing about this is that you will get a player from the Minor that is really motivated and waited for this opportunity for a very long time, whereas the downside of this is the new player won’t be able to create a decent team chemistry because they are only here for a short time. The Key Players that the Tigers are missing are Castellanos, Martin, and Cabrera.

Mikie Mahtook went 2-for-4 with two runs batted in. Mahtook singled in a run in the third, and he doubled one home in the seventh inning. He is doing a better job batting since his recall. He is slashing at .170/.226/.255. He is still trying to ease himself in the rotation but now he realizes that the talent pool in the Major is extremely high, he is also on a 3 game hitting streak.

Jose Iglesias was the beneficiary of the walk-off win, it was the only hit of the game for Iglesias. With runners on first-and-third, he took advantage of a drawn-in infield against Juan Nicasio to give the Tigers the win and the series victory. He is slashing .233/.280/.346 line through 36 games he hoping he can do the same to the Indians when they come to town.

How Cleveland Indians & Detroit Tigers Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

Tigers are 17-37 in their last 54 vs. a team with a winning record.

Indians are 40-11 in their last 51 vs. a team with a losing record.

Against The Spread Selection: Cleveland Indians

My reason for the pick :

The Indians batting is firing on all cylinders, it will be very hard for the Tigers to contain the Indians batters as they will lose this game on the road. The Indians will extend their lead and remain the AL Central division leader. When a team is this hot in batting it is very hard not to bet against them because the momentum they had in the last series is likely going to carry on into this one.

Betting trends for Cleveland Indians:

  • Indians are 16-5 in their last 21 road games vs. a team with a losing record.

Betting trends for Detroit Tigers:

  • Tigers are 7-23 in their last 30 home games vs. a team with a winning record.
