Game 2 of a 3-game set against the visiting Houston Astros and the Los Angeles Angels will resume at Angels Stadium in Los Angeles, California, on Tuesday at 10:07 pm EST.  Currently, the Angels occupy top spot in the AL West while the Astros are in 2nd place in the AL Central.  This will be the 2nd matchup of the year amongst these two teams with Houston taking the 3-game road series victory on 4-25-2018.

After a sweep at the hands of the Yankees at home in a 3-game set on April 29th, , the Angels rebounded in winner’s fashion at home against the Baltimore Orioles in a 3-game set in which they swept on 5-3-2018.  They followed this series up with a win over the Seattle Mariners in a 3-game road set on 5-6-2018 while tying their next, 2-game road series against the Colorado Rockies on 5-9-2018.  They seemed to take this momentum into a huge showdown with the Minnesota Twins as they won game 1 by a 7-4 score; However, they would lose game 2 on Friday by a score of 5-4.

Los Angeles Angels 's Latest Performance :

After being swept in a 4-game set at home against the Yankees as well as losing a 3-game set with the Arizona Diamondbacks on 5-6-2018, the Houston Astros found their form once against with a 3-game sweep on the road versus the Oakland Athletics on 5-9-2018.  Nonetheless, the Astros dropped game 1 of a 3-game home set versus the Texas Rangers by a score of 1-0 on 5-11-2018.  In all, the Astros are winners of 3 of the last 5 games to where the O/U was 1-4.

How Houston Astros & Los Angeles Angels Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

For the season, the Angels are 21-17 ATS while the O/U is 21-17.  On the other hand, the Houston Astros are 20-20 ATS while the O/U is 14-24-2.

In-Depth Analysis of each team:

This matchup will be an interesting one in that not only are these two of the hottest teams in the MLB at the moment, but, they are also battling for the top spot within the AL West division.  Both teams have won 3 of their last 5 games and seek to either increase their lead in the division, or, make up some ground in obtaining the top spot within the AL West division, altogether.  These factors will indeed make game 2 a must watch, and, for both teams, a must win.

Against The Spread Selection: Los Angeles Angels

My reason for the pick :

While both teams are worthy of praise thus far for their consistency and focus in 2018, both the Angels and Astros had recently gone through a rough patch where they were playing in contrast to their overall style of play.  Nonetheless, they have both seemingly weathered the storm and are looking to add to their solid season(s) thus far.  While Houston has had success against the Angels in Los Angeles in recent matchups, I will expect the Angels to come out with focus and intensity in which to get the victory on Tuesday.  Besides, they are so close to gaining the top spot in the West, I am sure they can taste it by now.
