The Dodgers come into this matchup losers of 4 of their last 5 games to where the O/U was 2-3. Recently, after tying a 4-game set versus the Diamondbacks, the Dodgers briefly carried this momentum into their following series against the San Diego Padres by winning game 1 by a score of 4-0 on 5-4. They would, however, go on to lose both game 2 and 3 along with the series, altogether, with the finale being a 3-0 shutout for the Padres. They would follow this series with yet another 2-game series tie versus the Arizona Diamondbacks, once again, at home on 5-9-2018. Most recently, they were swept in a 4-game set versus the lowly Cincinnati Reds on 5-13-2018.

Miami Marlins's Latest Performance :
As recently as early last week, the Marlins had been playing well winning 6 of 8 games, however, since then, they have lost 6 of their last 7 games to where the O/U was 5-2. Recently, they picked up a win on the road in a 3-game set against the Cincinnati Reds on 5-6-2018, yet, were blasted on the road in a 3-game sweep at the hands of the Chicago Cubs on 5-9-2018. The Marlins followed this up by losing 3 of 4 to the Atlanta Braves at home on 5-13-2018.
For the season, the Marlins average 3.45 runs per game (30th) with a team batting average of .227 (29th), 31 homers (30th) along with 9 stolen bases (29th). Their pitching staff has an ERA of 5.12 (28th) with 352 strikeouts (12th) along with 12 quality starts (26th).

How Los Angeles Dodgers & Miami Marlins Matchup.
Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:
For the season, the Dodgers are 13-27 ATS while the O/U is 20-19-1. On the other hand, the Marlins are 19-21 ATS while the O/U is 20-20.
In-Depth Analysis of each team:
This matchup will entail two struggling teams desperately looking to get a win. On one hand, the Marlins have been outscored in its last 5 losses 55 to 19, which certainly points toward lack of offense along with a severe lack of consistency on the mound. On the other hand, the Dodgers have had to deal with various injuries at key positions, thus resulting in them losing 11 of their last 15 outings. This contest will be interesting in that both teams should really be focused in exploiting various weaknesses within the opposing squad in which to pick up a much-needed win on Thursday.
Totals Selection: Over
My reason for the prediction :
I will have to side with the over in this matchup in that both teams have had to deal with inconsistency within their pitching ranks throughout this young season, and I really do not see that changing very much in Thursday’s matchup. What this series will bring for both teams, however, will be a chance for one team to hone in on their hitting approach as I really see this game, and the series, altogether, as being one where hits will be plentiful while the scoreboard will certainly be lighting up frequently.
