The Tigers are not fazed by their last result as they finish their homestand 4-2 as they now prepare themselves for a 7 game road trip, the Tigers are 7-13 on the road this season. The Tigers have just beaten the Mariners on their home floor by winning the series 2-1.  The Tigers now have a record of 19-23 making them 3rd place in the AL Central division. Grayson Greiner went 1-for-4 with a double. His sixth-inning double off Trevor Bauer was one of just four hits for the Tigers and the only one that went for extra bases. The 25-year-old has hit .313 in 16 at-bats with a 4 games hitting streak since his call-up earlier this month. If he keeps up this kind of performance he might have gotten himself a spot on the roster.

Pete Kozma is very familiar with this Mariners team he had 3 RBIs in the two games the Tigers played them, he has proven himself that he belongs on the team after the Tigers have bought his contract off the Triple-A Toledo. He is slashing .261/.261/.478 with 6 RBIs and a homer expect his numbers to be much better as the season progresses.

Pitching for the Tigers will be Mike Fiers. He is heating up lately, allowing three runs on nine hits with 10 strikeouts in 11 1/3 innings over his past two starts. He has a 6.00 ERA in five career starts against the Mariners, though he missed them during last weekend’s series in Detroit.

Seattle Mariners's Latest Performance :

The Mariners will get their chance to redeem themselves against the Tigers after losing out on the road 2-1. After the walk-off victory, the day after the Mariners gave up 5 runs and scoring only 1 run as they split the series with the Rangers. Coming into this series the Mariners are 22nd in pitching with an ERA of 4.51 and 11th in scoring with 194 runs scored this season.

Jean Segura is the team’s go-to player when they need a run he is batting .388 with runners in scoring position for the year. With two on and two outs in the 8th inning in the Mariners best scoring opportunity, he popped out to the right field on the first pitch.

Ben Gamel went 2 for 3 with a double he was accounted for two of Seattle’s four hits off Bartolo Colon, singling in the second inning before adding a double in the fifth. Kyle Seager notched a solo homer giving him his 8th homer of the year but it came a little bit too late as the Mariners weren’t able to make a late push. Against The Spread Selection: Seattle Mariners

My reason for the pick :

The Mariners will get their revenge over the Tigers at home, Paxton will put on a masterful pitching performance shutting down the Tigers batters, the last time he played against the Tigers he allowed only 3 runs so he is pretty familiar with the Tigers line up. He will get his second win on the season as the Mariners will beat the Tigers at home.
