Tampa Bay Rays's Latest Performance :
The Tampa Bay Rays have won 4 of their last 5 games to where the O/U was 3-2. After being swept by the Atlanta Braves in a 2-game set on 5-9-2018 while also dropping a 4-game set against the Baltimore Orioles 3-games-to-1 on 5-13-2018, the Rays swept a 3-game road set versus the struggling Kansas City Royals squad on 5-14-2018 with game 3 being a 5-3 win for Tampa Bay. The Rays have certainly gained some momentum and seek to carry it into the finale with the Angels.
The Rays are averaging 4.27 runs per game (17th) with a team batting average of .262 (3rd), 37 homers (29th), along with 26 stolen bases on the year (10th). Their pitching staff has an ERA of 4.57 (24th) with 335 strikeouts (22nd) and 11 quality starts (30th).

Cron (.289 BA on 159 AB), Matt Duffy (.322 BA on 121 AB), and Denard Span (.254 BA on 124 AB) are also critical to the Baltimore offense.

Los Angeles Angels's Latest Performance :
Recently, the Angels tied 2-game set on the road versus the Rockies on 5-9-2018 while also tying a 4-game set against the Minnesota Twins on 5-13-2018. They would go on to lose a 3-game home set versus the Houston Astros on 5-16-2018, with game 3 being a 2-0 shutout for the Astros. The Angels have had a rough patch lately and would love to end their losing skid in game 3 against a team that has dominated them in recent matchups.
For the season, the Angels are averaging 4.81 runs per game (8th) with a team batting average of .256 (9th), 58 homers (4th) along with 22 stolen bases (12th). Their pitching staff has an ERA of 3.73 (11th) with 401 strikeouts (7th) with 18 quality starts on the year (10th).

How Tampa Bay Rays & Los Angeles Angels Matchup.
Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

In-Depth Analysis of each team:
While the Angels have proven that they are one of the more dangerous teams in the MLB thus far, they have not been able to perform well against top level competition thus far. In all, they hope to end this series on a positive note in preparation for their next set on the road versus the Blue Jays. On the other hand, the Tampa Bay Rays are now the beneficiaries of tons of momentum heading into this matchup. Coming off a decisive sweep of the Royals, they are looking to build from this series in which to string together some wins and get back into the NL East race.
Against The Spread Selection: Tampa Bay Rays
My reason for the pick :
While I feel that the Angels will play well in this matchup, I will be siding with the Rays in the finale. On one hand, they have dominated the Angels on the road in recent matchups and when combined with the fact that the Angels have certainly played well recently (albeit against inferior competition), I feel that they will squeak out a close win to end the series. The Rays will somehow neutralize the big bats of the Angels in which to pick up the hard-fought victory on Sunday afternoon.
