Pick, Prediction, & Preview:
Arizona Diamondbacks vs Milwaukee Brewers
The D-Backs will hit the road to play the Brewers at Miller Park for a 3 game series, this will be their second meeting in the span of 4 days, the Brewers took the first series meet winning 2-1. The D-Backs are first in the NL West while the Brewers are first in the NL Central.
Arizona Diamondbacks's Latest Performance :
The D-Backs have now lost 8 of their last 9 scoring more than two runs just two times, they have started the year on fire but after losing out AJ Pollock for 4-8 week the D-Backs look like a completely different team without him in the lineup. In the past 8 games, the D-Backs were only able to score 14 runs in total. It shows you how valuable was Pollock to this D-Back team. With the lack of offense in the last couple of the days, the D-Back has now dropped to 26th in scoring with 171 runs scored this season a huge drop in the rankings for the D-Backs. They are still on top of the NL West division with the record of 25-19 but the Rockies are now one game behind for the top spot in the division. The D-Backs are hoping to bounce back against the Brewers as they lost to them a few days ago scoring only 6 runs in the span of 3 games. The D-Backs have yet to find a spark offensively.
Paul Goldschmidt was supposed to step up in AJ absence but it has been the complete opposite he went 0 for 4 with four strikeouts for the fourth time in his career. He has really been struggling at the plate this season his line is .203/.326/.354 with four homers and 12 RBI through 44 games. He will have to go back and regroup and figure out what is wrong with his batting mechanics this season, the team desperately needs the old Paul back on the team.
Jake Lamb returns from the DL list to score an RBI double. The D-Backs are hoping that Lamb can be the player that provides the offensive spark that the D-Backs need. He is slashing .273/.333/.364 with 6 RBIs. I expect Lamb numbers to go up during this road trip.
Pitching for the D-Backs will be Zack Greinke. He threw six innings of one-run baseball and received a no-decision on Tuesday against the Brewers. He struck out five and walked one. Greinke has returned to form recently and hasn’t allowed more than one earned run in a start since April 30.
Milwaukee Brewers's Latest Performance :
The Brewers will be back at Miller Park for a 10 game homestand beginning Monday. They have won 6 of their last eight games. The Brewers are 10-9 when playing at home this season, the Brewers recently just played the D-Backs a couple of days ago, the Brewers end up winning the series 2-1 as they put up a total of 15 runs in the two wins on the road. The Brewers offense hasn’t slowed down as they were able to put up another 8 runs against the Twins. The Brewers are on top of the NL Central division they are one game ahead of the Pirates. Coming into this series the Brewers are ranked 20th with 184 runs scored this season but in the last 3 wins the Brewers batter has put up 23 runs. I expect the Brewers to climb up the scoring rank if they are able to keep this scoring pace up. In their six victories on the road, the Brewers have averaged 7.7 runs on 12.8 hits.
Jesus Aguilar went 3-for-4 with two homers, a walk, three RBI, and three runs scored. He was playing in the 3rd spot of the Brewers batting rotation as he struck a two-run homer in the 3rd inning before hitting a solo homer in the 7th, he was doing it all for the Brewers in this game. It was his third career multi-homer game. He is currently on a 3 game hitting streak, his line is .326/.396/.558 with 17 RBIs and 5 homers. He will look to deem himself against the D-Backs at home, in his last outing against them he went 2 for 13 on the road against the D-Backs.
Ji-Man Choi was called up to replace the injured Ryan Braun and he did not disappoint in his first game back in the Major as he was able to hit a solo home run and got a walk in his return. If Choi is able to keep up his batting average the Brewers might have found another option on offense and his production will be needed in this 10 game homestand.
Pitching for the Brewers will be Chase Anderson. He holds a strong 3.97 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, and 30/16 K/BB ratio in 45 1/3 innings this season. He should discover from his food poisoning as will get ready to face his former team.

Against The Spread Selection: Arizona Diamondbacks
My reason for the pick :
Arizona Diamondbacks will win this game on the road over the Brewers, the team is struggling on offense right now but in this game, the D-Backs got Greinke controlling the mound for the team. He pitched six strong innings allowing one run striking out 5 against the Brewers on Tuesday that ended up in a no-decision he will get his win the second time around.
