Pick, Prediction, & Preview:
New York Yankees vs Texas Rangers
The Rangers will welcome the Yankees to Globe Life Park as both teams will go head to head in a 3 games series. The Yankees will be looking to win 9 straight series. The Rangers is in the last place of the AL West while the Yankees lead the NL East division.
New York Yankees's Latest Performance :
The Yankees have finally solidified themselves as the best team in the Major with a record of 29-13. Although the Red Sox have taken their place as the best batting team in the Major the Yankees still have 3 games in hand and I am pretty sure they will reclaim the top spot in batting again. The Yankees were able to bounce back from the loss against the Royals in the series opener by putting up 5 homers and that puts them in the position to win 8 straight series. The Yankees are currently on a 6 game road trip, they are 11-6 on the road this year and should have no problem matching up with the Rangers. The Yankees are 20-14 since April 21. Severino allowed 8 hits and 3 runs in 6 innings picking up his 7th win of the season.
Gary Sanchez went 4-for-5 with two solo home runs, an RBI double, and three total RBI. He has had some big hits for the Yankees this season. He saved his home run balls for late, swatting those solo shots in the seventh and ninth innings. Sanchez raised his average from .204 to .225. He has already hit 12 home runs, 10 multi-homer games and driven in 33 runs in 39 games this season. The batting depth for this year Yankee team has been great and no team in the major can come close to it.
Aaron Hicks went 2-for-4 with a solo inside-the-park home run and two runs scored. He is slashing .240/.344/.413 this season with 16 RBIs with 4 homers. He has missed time with injury this year but his numbers are bound to go up as the season progresses.
Pitching for the Yankees will be Domingo German. He has impressed with six hitless innings in his first big league start, on May 6 vs. Cleveland, but the rookie came back to Earth on May 12 vs. Oakland, allowing six runs on six hits in five innings.
Texas Rangers 's Latest Performance :
The Rangers will be returning home after the 9 game road trip as they will take on the best team in the Major the Yankees. The Rangers are 7-16 when playing at home this year. Coming into this series the Rangers are 25th in pitching with an ERA of 4.71 this season. Pitcher Ariel Jurado made his debut for the Rangers he became the youngest Rangers to make a start in his debut in nearly 10 years. He allowed four runs while striking out 2 with 6 hits. The problem all year long for the Rangers is that they can’t maintain a lead, the Rangers have lost 11 games this season after taking the lead and the task does not get any easier when the Yankees come to town.
Jurickson Profar went 1-for-3 with an RBI double and a sacrifice fly. He has been hitting the ball well of late, having collected at least one hit in eight of his last 10 games. He is slashing .234/.308/.390 with two homers, 20 RBI and 16 runs scored in 141 at-bats. He has been given the opportunity but hasn’t really done much with it.
Rougned Odor went 1-for-4 with an RBI double giving the Rangers the 2-0 but unfortunately, the lead did not last long. This season, Odor is slashing a tough .177/.246/.242 with no home runs and just seven RBI through his first 19 games played. He is probably still dealing with the hamstring strain he had to deal with earlier this year. Odor is capable of putting up big numbers as he’s cracked at least 30 home runs each of the past two seasons. It just a matter of time that he will discover his form, if he plays well against the Yankees he could create some buzz for himself.
Pitching for the Rangers will be Cole Hammels. After being scratched from his previous start due to neck stiffness, the left-hander will take the mound against the Yankees. He last pitched on May 11 when he allowed one hit and struck out five over six innings against the Astros. He owns an ERA of 3.48 while striking out 57 this season.

Against The Spread Selection: New York Yankees
My reason for the pick :
The Yankees are too hot right now and the only thing that can stop them is themselves. The depth of this team is something we don’t see every season. The Yankees now have 5 players with double-digit homers. The Rangers won’t be able to keep up with them, one bad pitch might result in a homer, the Rangers will have to try their best to keep this game close if not it will be another lopsided victory for the Yankees.
Betting trends for New York Yankees:
- Yankees are 8-2 in their last 10 road games.
Betting trends for Texas Rangers :
- Rangers are 9-24 in their last 33 home games.
