Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

Baltimore Orioles vs Chicago White Sox

This will be the 2nd game of the 4 game series between the White Sox and the Orioles. The White Sox will look to continue their impressive homestand and the Orioles will hope to their struggles on the road. Both teams are last in their respective division. This will be the first meeting between the two teams this season.

Baltimore Orioles's Latest Performance :

The Orioles are coming out a shutout loss against the Red Sox, it is the teams’ 4th shutout loss this season. The O’s will continue their 11 games road trip as now they will face off against the White Sox. The O’s are having yet another disappointing year they are in the last place in the AL East with a record of 14-32. The O’s have really been struggling on the road this season they fell to 1-15 over their last 16 games. Pitching for the O’s have also been a problem for them this year, they are ranked 27th with an ERA of 5.09. David Hess allowed 3 homers in his 4 2/3 innings performances like that from your starting pitcher wins will be very hard to come by. The O’s had 13 hits in this game but could not translate a single hit into a run. That is how bad they are struggling.

The offense is hard to come by for O’s this season as well, Manny Machado remains the only bright spot on the team. He is doing everything he can to help this team win but the thing is that his fellow teammates aren’t at Machado level, it must feel really frustrated being Manny because he puts up great performances after another and his team is sitting last in the division, the team made it clear that they are heading into rebuilding mode that means whoever picks up Manny via trade will get a steal. His line this season is .343/.419/.652 with 14 homers, 42 RBI and a pair of stolen bases.

Pitching for the O’s will be Alex Cobb. He won his first game in his seventh start on Friday against the Red Sox tries for his second straight win. Cobb is 0-2 with a 13.50 ERA in two starts against the White Sox.

Chicago White Sox's Latest Performance :

Meanwhile, the White Sox are coming off an impressive shutout win against the Rangers. As they will cap off their 8 game homestand against the O’s. The White Sox are currently 3-1 in the homestand, they are playing well right now as Lopez bounce back in a huge way in 8 innings he allowed only 2 hits and 2 walks while striking out eight this gave him his first win of the season. The White Sox have a long way to go after a bad start to the season they have managed to win 13 games and dropped 30 already this season. To keep an open mind they get to play the O’s who are really struggling on the road this season something the White Sox should take advantage of and perhaps start a winning streak in the future.

Wellington Castillo went 2-for-3 with his sixth home run of the season. He was the first batter to put the White Sox on the board. He has six homers and 14 RBI in 30 games this year. The veteran backstop is hitting a respectable .260/.306/.471 overall.

Leury Garcia went 2-for-4 with a two-run single. He extended the lead with a two-out, two-run single in the third inning. He has nine hits in his last 26 at-bats with a homer. He is hitting .268/.311/.375 in 36 games while appearing at four different positions this year. This is the perfect scenario for the White Sox, their starting pitcher lays the foundation and gives the team a chance to pull out a victory they are hoping that this impressive homestand will continue when they play the Orioles.

Pitching for the White Sox will be Lucas Giolito. He surrendered three runs (two earned) on four hits over six innings in Saturday’s win over the Rangers. He struck out three and walked two on the evening. While he’s still working to an uncomfortable 6.42 ERA and 1.57 WHIP this season.

How Baltimore Orioles & Chicago White Sox Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

White Sox are 2-5 in their last 7 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400.

Orioles are 6-13 in their last 19 vs. American League Central.

Against The Spread Selection: Chicago White Sox

My reason for the pick :

The White Sox should be able to pick up the win after the shutout victory over the Rangers. All the momentum will be on the home team side as they are looking to close out this homestand strong after the way they have been playing. As for the O’s their road woes will continue.
