Los Angeles Angels's Latest Performance :
The Angels come into this game losers of 4 of their last 5 games to where the O/U was 2-2-1. Recently, the Angels tied a 4-game set against the Minnesota Twins on 5-13-2018. They would go on to lose a 3-game home set versus the Houston Astros on 5-16-2018, with game 3 being a 2-0 shutout for the Astros. Furthermore, the Angels would go on to lose a 4-game home set against the Tampa Bay Rays on 5-20-2018.

Toronto Blue Jays's Latest Performance :
The Blue Jays are losers of 4 of their last 5 games to where the O/U was 3-1-1. Recently, after a 3-game home series loss to the Seattle Mariners on 5-10-2018 along with the Boston Red Sox on 5-13-2018, Toronto followed this up with a 2-game series tie against the NY Mets on 5-16-2018. Nonetheless, they would come out flat in a 4-game home set versus the Oakland Athletics and would end up getting swept on 5-19-2018.
For the season, the Toronto Blue Jays are averaging 4.77 runs per game (6th) with a team batting average of .230 (26th), 61 homers (6th) along with 21 stolen bases (19th). Their pitching staff has an ERA of 4.60 (24th) with 404 strikeouts (12th) along with 14 quality starts on the season (26th).
Kevin Pillar (.294 BA on 177 AB), Justin Smoak (.252 BA on 155 AB), and Yangervis Solarte (.260 BA on 177 AB) have been the offensive spearheads for the Toronto Blue Jays this season.
Pitcher JA Happ (5-3, 52 IP, 25 R, 46 H, 9 HR, 13 BB, 66 SO with an ERA of 4.15) has been the most consistent pitcher for the Blue Jay’s bullpen this year. Aaron Sanchez (2-4, 50.1 IP, 28 R, 48 H, 5 HR, 29 BB, 40 SO with an ERA of 4.47) and Marco Estrada (2-4, 50.2 IP, 29 R, 55 H, 11 HR, 15 BB, 40 SO with an ERA of 5.15) have not been as consistent, yet, very serviceable components for the Blue Jays.
How Los Angeles Angels & Toronto Blue Jays Matchup.
Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:
For the season, the Angels are 23-24 ATS while the O/U is 23-22-2. On the other hand, the Blue Jays are 24-23 ATS while the O/U is 22-20-5.
In-Depth Analysis of each team:
The Blue Jays continue to slide due to inconsistent play both at the plate as well as at the mound. For this matchup, they hope to cure their current skid by sending out Nick Tropeano (1-3) to mound. The Angels will counter with right-hander Marco Estrada (2-4) who will be making his 10th start of the season for the Toronto. Both pitchers have had a set of tough luck losses this season along with a string of no-decisions, yet, have been very serviceable all-season long. It would be interesting see how a set of teams that have only averaged a tad over 2 runs per game in their last 5 losses will respond in order to pick up a victory.
Against The Spread Selection: Los Angeles Angels
My reason for the pick :
Despite their apparent inconsistencies at this point in the season, I expect the Angels to come out with a victory in the finale on Thursday. The Angels lineup is very familiar with Estrada with Mike Trout (.375 BA on 8 AB), Albert Pujols (.429 BA on 7 AB), and Andrelton Simmons (.500 BA on 10 AB) all having great success against the righty in the past. Also, with the Blue Jays having very little, if any, experience against Tropeano is the past, their struggles will indeed continue as the Angels will roll to another series win in game 3.
