Minnesota Twins's Latest Performance :
The Minnesota Twins come into this game winners of 3 of their last 5 games to where the O/U was 2-3. Recently, the Twins would tie a 2-game home series versus the St. Louis Cardinals on 5-16-2018. They would then go on to lose a 3-game home set to the Milwaukee Brewers on 5-20-2018. They did, however, returned to form in games 1 and 2 of their current 3-game home series against the Detroit Tigers in going up 2 games to 1 with a 6-0 win on 5-22-2018.
For the season, the Twins are averaging 4.25 runs per game (17th) with a team batting average of .243 (16th), 46 homers (23rd) along with 16 stolen bases (27th). Their pitching staff has an ERA of 4.30 (19th) with 409 strikeouts (15th) along with 16 quality starts on the year (23rd).
Eduardo Escobar (.285 BA on 158 AB), Joe Mauer (.283 BA on 138 AB), Max Kepler (.253 BA on 154 AB), and Brian Dozier (.236 BA on 182 AB) have been consistent within the Twins offense this season; However, Eddie Rosario (.285 BA on 172 AB) has been instrumental in their offensive attack as well.
Pitcher Kyle Gibson (1-2, 50 IP, 23 R, 40 H, 4 HR, 26 BB, 55 SO, 3.96 ERA) and Jose Berrios (5-4, 61.1 IP, 26 R, 44 H, 8 HR, 12 BB, 59 SO, 3.82 ERA) have led the Twins pitching staff thus far. Jake Odorizzi (3-2, 54 IP, 21 R, 45 H, 10 HR, 23 BB, 55 SO, 3.17 ERA) has also been solid for Minnesota this year.
Seattle Mariners's Latest Performance :
The Mariners have won 4 of their last 5 games to where the O/U was 2-3. Recently, Seattle picked up a win over the Minnesota Twins by a score of 1-0 on 5-14-2018. Nonetheless, they would go on to tie a 2-game home set versus the Texas Rangers on 5-16-2018. In their following 4-game home series versus the Detroit Tigers, the Mariners won the last 3 games to win the set on 5-20-2018. They would take this momentum into their next series versus the Athletics and picked up a 3-2 game 1 win on 5-22-2018.
For the season, the Mariners are averaging 4.55 runs per game (12th) with a team batting average of .255 (9th), 55 homers (14th) along with 33 stolen bases (6th). Their pitching staff has certainly been inconsistent on the year with an ERA of 4.21 (18th) with 416 strikeouts (12th) along with 20 quality starts (17th).
Dee Gordon (.304 BA on 184 AB), Jean Segura (.315 BA on 197 AB), and Mitch Haniger (.296 BA on 169 AB) have been solid at the plate for the Mariners thus far. Kyle Seager (.222 BA on 185 AB) has also been pivotal to Seattle’s success this season.

How Minnesota Twins & Seattle Mariners Matchup.
Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:
For the season, the Twins are 26-18 ATS while the O/U is 22-21-1. On the other hand, the Mariners are 26-21 ATS while the O/U is 27-20.
In-Depth Analysis of each team:
The Mariners are on fire winning 6 of their last 8 games while the Twins have won 3-straight. They both look to continue their stellar play recently while picking up a huge game 1 win. James Paxton (3-1) will be coming to the mound for the Mariners on Friday and will be looking to maintain his solid steak of performances this year. It would be important to note that Paxton has dominated the Twins lineup in the past with only Eduardo Escobar (.286 BA on 7 AB), Jason Castro (.400 BA on 5 AB), Ryan LaMarre (.500 BA on 2 AB), Joe Mauer (.286 BA on 7 AB), Miguel Sano (500 BA on 8 AB), and Bobby Wilson (.250 BA on 4 AB) are batting over .200 against Paxton in their careers. Ehire Adrianza (0-4), Mitch Garver)-2), Robbie Grossman (0-9), Max Kepler (0-4), Logan Morrison (0-3), and Gregorio Petit (0-3) have not fare well at all against Paxton in the past. It will be interesting to see how/if the Mariners will be able to exploit their obvious advantage at the mound.
Totals Selection: Under
My reason for the prediction :
Both pitching staffs have played well recently with the Twins allowing their opponents only 1 run in their last 3 wins. On the other hand, the Mariners have only allowed their opponents 2.5 runs per game in their last 4 wins. With that being said, both offense have been relatively warm lately which means pitching will certainly make the difference in the end. The Under has been the play in 4 of the past 6 games for the Mariners while being the play in 5 of the last 8 contests for the Twins. I expect these trends to continue Friday night.
