Chicago White Sox's Latest Performance :
The White Sox are looking to secure the series victory over the O’s before they hit the road to face off against the Tigers. With the 10 run win over the O’s the White Sox now have 15 wins on the year. Dylan Covey got his first ever MLB victory he allowed only one run over a career-high seven innings while striking out eight. They are now 5-2 on their 8 game homestand. The White Sox came back after being down 1-0 in two innings and scored 10 straight to secure the victory it is the 4th time this season that the White Sox has scored 10 or more runs. The team will hope that this kind of scoring burst will carry over into the series against the Tigers.
Yoan Moncada struck a three-run homer. He got the White Sox on the board with a three-run blast off Alex Cobb in the third inning and they wouldn’t look back. He also drew a walk in the contest, finishing the night 1-for-4 with a pair of runs scored. He is now slashing .262/.347/.483 with seven homers, 19 RBI and four stolen bases on the season.
Adam Engel had a career game as he went 4 for 4 in the blow out win with a homer, three runs scored, two RBI and a stolen base. All three of his other hits were singles. After that great game, he has improved his slashing to .212/.286/.283. He will look to build on his great hitting performance on the road against the Tigers.
Pitching for the White Sox on the road will be Hector Santiago. He is settling into the White Sox rotation. Over his last two starts, Santiago has given up five runs in 11 innings. He pitched well last time out but allowed three solo home runs to the Orioles. He is now 0-2 with a 5.17 ERA.
Detroit Tigers's Latest Performance :
The Tigers are coming off a rubber game win over the twins as they now will head back home to face the White Sox in a 3 game series. The Tigers are now 4 games back for the second spot in the AL Central division. The Tigers are 16th in scoring with 205 runs scored this season, they are 12-10 when playing at home this season. Fulmer came through for the Tigers in the rubber game as he allowed only 1 earned run over 5 2/3 ending the 5 game skid. Performances like this from your starting pitcher tells us that the Tigers have a great chance of making a run into the postseason because they have a quality pitcher that they can rely on. It must have felt great for Fulmer as he collected his first win since April 7th. Shane Greene also collected his 11th save of the season.
Niko Goodrum struck a two-run homer in the 4th inning, walked in the sixth, then doubled and scored in the eighth. As he finished the game 2 for 3. He finally ended his 1 for 18 slumps, he will carry over this hitting performance back home when the team plays against the White Sox. He is slashing .245/.308/.480 this season with 13 RBIs.
Victor Martinez managed to get 2 hits he drove in the game’s first run with a first-inning sacrifice fly, then singled and scored on Niko Goodrum’s two-run homer in the fourth. He singled again in the sixth but was ultimately stranded at third base. He has hit safely in six of his last seven games, it will be a great opportunity for him to build on his hitting streak against the White Sox. He now has a batting average of .243 on the season.
Pitching for the Tigers will be Franciso Liriano. He rebounded from his May struggles to take a no-hitter into the seventh last Sunday at Seattle. He wasn’t able to get the win after eight scoreless innings because of the Mariners’ comeback off Detroit’s bullpen, but he showed he can shorten slumps. He now owns an ERA of 3.42 and is 3-1 on the season.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:
Tigers are 24-54 in their last 78 games vs. a right-handed starter.
White Sox are 4-1 in their last 5 vs. a team with a losing record.
Against The Spread Selection: Detroit Tigers
My reason for the pick :
The Tigers will be able to win game 2 at home over the White Sox, as Liriano will put on a masterful pitching performance after failing to get a win last time around after striking out 8 he will be more than ready second time around. With this win, this will allow the Tigers to close the gap for the second spot in the AL Central division.
