Pick, Prediction, & Preview:
Cleveland Indians vs Minnesota Twins
The Twins will begin their 11 game homestand as they will welcome the Indians to the Target Center. The two teams will go head to head in a four-game series. The Twins are 3rd in the AL Central while the Indians are on top of the AL Central. This will be the second meeting between the two teams, in the first meeting the series ended in a 1-1 series split.
Cleveland Indians's Latest Performance :
The Indians are coming off a series sweep victory against the White Sox, they are now on a 5 game winning streak. They will now hit the road to go face the Twins in a four-game series, the Indians will have a chance to extend their lead on top of the AL Central if they are able to carry over this momentum into the next series against the Twins. The Indians are not a really good road team this season they are 11-14. The Indians are ranked 17th in pitching with a 4.17 ERA. Corey Kluber came through in the rubber game for the Indians as he struck out 10 and allowing just three hits through 6 innings of play. Through May Kluber has struck out 41 times in 39 1/3 innings with one walk.
Michael Brantley went 3-for-4 with a home run to extend his hitting streak to 18 games. He singled and scored in the first inning to extend the hit streak and then hit a homer to the center field in the third inning off Lucas Giolito. He later added another single. He wasn’t hitting for much power before the hit streak, but he’s now gone deep six times during the streak, driven in 19 and is batting .367. He’s got his season line up to .343/.380/.573. I expect him to dominate the game against the Twins on the road as the Indians are starting to pile up the wins after a slow start to the season.
Pitching for the Indians will be Trevor Bauer was dealt a no-decision in his most recent start on Sunday vs. the Astros, allowing four runs on five hits through 7 1/3 innings. He struck out a season-high 13. He has a 2.61 ERA along with a 10.7 K/9 over 72 1/3 innings this season.
Minnesota Twins's Latest Performance :
The Twins are coming off a series loss against the Royals. The Twins will be back at Target Center for an 11 game homestand beginning Friday. The homestand opens with a three-game series against the Indians. The Twins are 11-12 when playing at home this season, coming into this series the Twins are 20th in pitching with a 4.26 ERA and 26th in scoring with 210 runs scored this season. Rookie Fernando Romero allows 8 runs in 2/3 innings he saw his 1.88 ERA jump to 4.15 they almost overcame an early 9-0 lead but their effort, in the end, proves to be not enough.
Miguel Sano went 2-for-5 with three RBI and a run scored. He laced an RBI-single in the third inning, then thumped a double to left that plated Brian Dozier and Eddie Rosario in the sixth. It wasn’t enough though as the Twins failed to come all the way back from a huge early deficit. He has a .208 batting average with six homers and 20 RBI in 26 games since his return from injury. Ehire Adrianza went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI. He drove in Max Kepler with a double in the fourth inning, then popped a solo shot off reliever Burch Smith in the sixth. He has a .234 batting average with seven RBI and 13 runs in 119 plate appearances.
Pitching for the Twins will be Lance Lynn has been much better in his past two starts, including a win against the Royals on Monday. He went six innings, allowing two runs on six hits to register his second straight quality start. He has an ERA of 3.76 ERA and a 24/10 K/BB ratio in 26 1/3 innings.

Against The Spread Selection: Cleveland Indians
My reason for the pick :
The Indians pitching will prove to be too much for the Twins to handle as they will lose at home to the Indians. Brantley will continue to hit well on the road as he will become a problem for the Twins pitchers in this game. Bauer will be hungry for a win after being charged with a no decision in his last game against the Astros after striking out a season-high 13.
