Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

Colorado Rockies vs Cincinnati Reds

The Rockies will hit the road as they will play the Reds in a 3 game series at the Great American Ball Park. The Rockies are hoping that they can end their skid on the road playing against the Reds. The Rockies are now second in the NL West while the Reds are in the last place of NL Central. These two teams recently just played each other at the end of May as the Rockies came out on top with a 2-1 series win.

Colorado Rockies's Latest Performance :

The Rockies are hoping to pick up some ground after they weren’t able to stay on top of the NL West division for too long. The Rockies were swept by the Dodgers at home in a 3 game series as the team is currently on a four-game losing streak. The Rockies will be glad to be playing away from Coors Field. The Rockies are 19-13 on the road they are a much better road team. The teams’ bullpen must do a better job on the road as they cost the team 3 straight home losses against the Dodgers because they couldn’t protect the lead. It is unacceptable for the Rockies to give up 3 runs in the 9th inning.

Ian Desmond finished the game with a two-run homer and a walk with three RBI. He now has 10 homers on the year but it is still having a hard time finding his swing on the plate. He has lifted his average from .167 to .192 since May 17, but he still has a long way to go to respectability. His four homers and 14 RBI across the past 15 outings. Playing the Reds would allow his batting average to go up a great confidence booster that can turn his season around. Trevor Story remains hot for the Rockies as he picked up 2 RBIs as he went 1 for 2 he has been impressive getting on base since May 22nd he has reached base safely 11 games in a row. His line for the season is .249/.333/.488 with 41 RBIs and 11 homers.

Pitching for the Rockies will be Jon Gray. He will look to turn around his disappointing start against the Dodgers on Wednesday when he threw 91 pitches in just 3 1/3 innings. In Gray’s last four starts, he is 1-2 with a 9.33 ERA and 31 hits allowed in 18 1/3 innings.

Cincinnati Reds's Latest Performance :

The Reds capped their three-team road trip by losing their third straight series and dropped six of the nine games. The Reds will return home as they will get ready to host a 6 game homestand. The homestand will begin with a 3 games series against the Rockies. The Reds are not a really good home team they are 9-19 on the season. Coming into this series the Reds are 27th in pitching with a 5.00 ERA and 18th in batting with 245 runs scored this season.

Scooter Gennett went 2-for-4 as he struck home run. He has been on a fire for the Reds in the last month, hitting .414 with 7 doubles, 9 home runs and 27 RBI in the last 25 games that he has played. His batting average rose to .283 to .342 since May 5. He now has 12 homers on the year with 41 RBIs. He remains one of the bright spots on a very bad team. Eugenio Suarez contributed with another solo home run. It was his 11th of the season and his only hit in four at-bats. He has four homers and 10 RBI across his past 10 outings.

Pitching for the Reds will be Sal Romano. He went nearly a month without a win before snapping a three-start losing streak in his last outing by beating the D-backs. He surrendered four runs and seven hits with no walks.

How Colorado Rockies & Cincinnati Reds Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

Against The Spread Selection: Colorado Rockies

My reason for the pick :

It is hard not to bet against the Rockies when they are playing on the road, they look like a completely different team away from home. The Rockies should be able to win this game on the road over the Reds as they will improve their road record to 20-13 on the season. I expect the Rockies offense to lead the way however the Rockies bullpen will play better because the Reds batters won’t be as potent as the Dodgers.

The Rockies to win on the road over the Reds.

Betting trends for Colorado Rockies:

  • Rockies are 2-5 in their last 7 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of less than .400.

Betting trends for Cincinnati Reds:

  • Reds are 19-39 in their last 58 home games vs. a team with a winning record.
