Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

Los Angeles Angels vs Minnesota Twins

The Twins will welcome the Angels to Target Field as both teams will go head to head in a 3 game series. The Twins are 3rd in the AL Central while the Angels are 3rd in the AL West. This will be their 2nd meeting of the season. In their last meeting, the Twins beat out the Angels 2-1.

Los Angeles Angels's Latest Performance :

The Angels are now on a four-game winning streak, they went 5-1 during their 6 game homestand. They were able to sweep the Royals at home in a 3 game series. The Angels will now hit the road for a 9 game road trip the Angels are a really strong team on the road this season they are 18-10 playing away from home this year. Coming into this series the Angels are 7th best in batting with 288 runs scored this season and 10th in pitching with an ERA of 3.63. Shohei Ohtani is back on the DL list because of a blister on his right middle finger but shouldn’t be out for long this time around.

Ian Kinsler finished 2-for-5 with a two-run home run, two runs scored and two RBIs. He has managed just six homers this season, but he has four homers and eight RBI over his past nine outings he has lifted his hitting average from .178 to .212 during this hot streak. He is not the player that would put up large numbers game in and out but he is someone you will need on the team for big moments.

Justin Upton went 2-for-4 with a solo home run. His average had slipped from .264 to .235 from May 14 to June 3, but he is 8-for-11 with two homers and three RBI in the past three outings against the Royals to bump his average back up to .259. I expect him to play really well against the Twins on the road.

Pitching for the Angels will be Tyler Skaggs. He picked up his fourth win of the year on Sunday in his last start, firing six scoreless innings against the Rangers. The 26-year-old left-hander allowed two runs over six innings on May 11 in his only career start against the Twins.

Minnesota Twins's Latest Performance :

The Twins will be back home for a short 3 game homestand against the Angels, the Twins are sitting in 3rd place of the AL Central as they are 5 games behind the Indians for first place. The Twins are 15-15 when playing at home this season, they will be facing a very good road team the Angels, the Twins must come prepared or else they will just get out-batted by the Angels stars. Coming into this series the Twins are 20th in pitching with an ERA of 4.28 and 23rd in batting with 248 runs scored this season. The Twins will have to do a better job closing out games especially when playing against the Angels.

Ehire Adrianza went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. He struck a double in the second inning and fourth inning scoring two runs off Grossman and LaMarre singles. With the way, he is batting this season he has earned more playing time on the team this season. He has one homer and eight RBIs this season while slashing .233/.290/.350 he will have to step up for the Twins if the leadoff batters aren’t able to figure the Angels pitches.

Eddie Rosario must be up for the challenge to play against the Angels at home, he is the team leader in homers and RBIs 13 and 40 respectively. He is quietly putting up big numbers game by game his line this season is .307/.344/.550.

Pitching for the Twins will be Lance Lynn let in only one run over six innings and earned a win against the Indians on Saturday. He is now 4-4 on the season with a 5.46 ERA in 11 starts. He will have to bring his A game against the Angels as he will playing some great batters in the Major.
