Pick, Prediction, & Preview:
Seattle Mariners vs Tampa Bay Rays
The Rays will welcome the Mariners to Tropicana Field as both teams will go head to head in a four-game series. The Rays are 3rd in the AL East division while the Mariners are 1st in the AL West. This will be their first matchup this season.
Seattle Mariners's Latest Performance :
The Mariners have now won 5 straight games and sending a message to the league that they are the real deal this season limiting the World Series Champion to just a single run in the Series opener and have a 2 game cushion in the standings. The Mariners will look to cap their 6 game road trip off as they will be playing the Rays in a four-game series. The Mariners are 14th in batting with 262 runs scored this season, during the 5 game winning streak the Mariners were able to put up a total of 23 runs. The Mariners have an impressive road record of 18-10.
Kyle Seager hit a three-run homer in his last outing he has become one of the leaders of this Mariners team this season. He has managed 10 homers and 36 RBI in 60 games. He should play a crucial part in how the Mariners season plays out but as of right now he is doing a great job carrying the team. He should play well on the road against the Rays. He is hitting .224/.280/.418 on the season.
Pitching for the Mariners will be Marco Gonzales. He has allowed just one earned run in 26 innings over his last four starts, including 6 2/3 innings with one run in a 3-1 win over the Rays on Saturday in Seattle. He is 5-1 with a 1.98 ERA over his last eight outings.
Tampa Bay Rays's Latest Performance :
The Rays will be back at Tropicana Field for a 7 game homestand beginning Friday. The homestand opens with a four-game series against the Mariners. The Rays are currently in 3rd place in the AL East division with a record of 28-31, they are hoping that this homestand can turn things around as the team is currently on a 5 game losing streak. It will be a tough matchup for the Rays playing the Mariners considering how good of a team the Mariners are on the road this season. The Rays aren’t having a good year at home they are only 11-13 on the season. The Rays are ranked 14th in pitching with a 3.77 ERA on the season and it is unfortunate for the Rays to be playing such a tough conference.
Brad Miller came off the bench and made an immediate impact on the game. He delivered a pinch-hit, two-run double. They were the only two runs the Rays managed off of Max Scherzer and Sean Doolittle. It’s been another down season for Miller, who is batting only .243/.312/.414. The Rays will have a tough time competing against the Mariners, they are coming off a dominant win against the World Champs Astros.
Pitching for the Rays will be Blake Snell. He tied an American League record by striking out the first seven batters he faced Sunday in Seattle, and he didn’t allow a run over six innings in a no-decision. He allowed just two hits and no walks with 12 strikeouts.

Against The Spread Selection: Seattle Mariners
My reason for the pick :
No one can stop the Mariners at this point of the season they are on a role and I don’t see any reason why the Mariners can blowout the Rays at home. The team chemistry of this Mariners team is at an all-time high and considering how they played against the Astros, the Rays would be a walk in the park for them.
The Mariners to beat the Rays on the road as their winning streak is still alive and the Rays will continue to drop games during their homestand.
