How San Diego Padres & Miami Marlins Matchup.

In-Depth Analysis of each team:
While the Padres have won 6 of their last 8 games, their opponent will come into this finale losers of 6 of their last 8 games. The pitcher for the Marlins have not been announced, however, Clayton Richard (4-6) will come to the mound for San Diego on Sunday looking for his 4th win in his last 7 starts. Richard has really picked it up in his last 5 starts, in particular, as he has only been credited for only 13 runs on 26 hits. He has also pitched very nicely against the Marlins lineup in the past as Derek Dietrich (0-3) and Miguel Rojas (0-3) have indeed struggled against the left-hander. On the other hand, Starlin Castro (1-3), Cameron Maybin (1-1), and J.T. Realmuto (1-3), however, have had a bit of success against Richard in the past. In a 6-game losing stretch in which the offense scored 2.3 runs per game, the Marlins have since picked up their scoring in their last 2 games averaging 9 runs per game. With that being said, it will be interesting to see how Richard approaches the awakened bats of the Marlins on Sunday.
Against The Spread Selection: San Diego Padres
My reason for the pick :
Again, by the Padres knocking off one of the most dangerous teams in the MLB in the Braves, I expect them to certainly continue their streak against a Marlins team that continues to struggle on offense, defense, and, on the mound. In addition to this, with Miami being on 3-8 in their last 11 home games, there may not be much hope that the Marlins can somehow pull out a victory. As stated, Richard has been on fire at the mound in recent outings and will certainly be looking to improve upon his record. Furthermore, with the Padres offense obtaining timely hits recently, I have the feeling that the Padres will indeed end this series on a winning note.
