Cleveland Indians's Latest Performance :
The Cleveland Indians come into this matchup winners of 4 of their last 5 games to where the O/U was 1-4. Recently, the Indians would lose a 4-game road set to the Minnesota Twins on 6-3-2018 while regaining their form in a short, 2-game home series versus the Milwaukee Brewers on 6-6-2018. The Indians will obtain even more momentum in their following series as they would pick up yet another 3-game road win versus the Detroit Tigers as they pulled out the 9-2 victory in the finale on 6-10-2018.
For the season, the Indians are averaging 4.95 runs per game (6th) with a team batting average of .253 (8th), 93 homers (3rd) along with 39 stolen bases (9th). Their pitching staff has an ERA of 4.13 (17th) with 569 strikeouts (10th), along with 41 quality starts, good for 2nd in the MLB.
Jose Ramirez (.292 BA on 240 AB) and Francisco Lindor (.291 BA on 261 AB) have spearheaded the Indians offensive attack this season. Yonder Alonso (.245 BA on 208 AB) and Edwin Encarnacion (.244 BA on 213 AB) have struggled a bit, yet, continue to be offensive leaders for the Indians. Jason Kipnis (.202 BA on 238 AB) has also struggled thus far in the young season.
Corey Kluber (10-2, 99.2 IP, 24 R, 73 H, 12 HR, 10 BB, 103 SO, 1.99 ERA) and Trevor Bauer (5-4, 86 IP, 32 R, 70 H, 5 HR, 29 BB, 109 SO, 2.62 ERA) have been the most consistent thus far. Mike Clevenger (4-2, 84.1 IP, 31 R, 73 H, 6 HR, 29 BB, 69 SO, 3.31 ERA) and Carlos Carrasco (7-4, 83 IP, 40 R, 79 H, 11 HR, 20 BB, 83 SO, 4.23 ERA) have been very solid in their own right thus far in the season and are bright spots for Cleveland’s pitching staff.
Chicago White Sox's Latest Performance :
The Chicago White Sox have won 3 of their last 5 games to where the O/U was 1-4. Recently, the White Sox would take out a hot Brewers team at home on 6-3-2018 in a 3-game set. They would tie the Minnesota Twins their following 4-game road set while also getting the huge 1-0 road win at Fenway Park over the Red Sox on 6-8-2018. The Red Sox, however, were able to tie the series in game 2 due to a 4-2 victory before falling to the White Sox in the finale by a 5-2 score.
For the season, the White Sox are averaging 3.90 runs per game (25th) with a team batting average of .243 (18th), 68 homers (19th), along with 53 stolen bases (1st). Their pitching staff has an ERA of 4.76 (25th) with 460 strikeouts (30th) along with 26 quality starts this season (18th).

In-Depth Analysis of each team:
Dylan Covey (2-1) will take the hill for the White Sox on Wednesday looking to not only continue his solid streak of pitching, but, to obtain his 3rd win in 5 starts. Covey has only been credited with 3 runs on 18 hits in his last 4 starts while the under has been the play in 4 of his last six games. The pitcher for the Indians have not yet been determined, however, the Cleveland pitching staff, in its last 5 games, are allowing opponents to average a total of 3 runs per game. The Under has also been the result in 5 of the Indians’ last 5 games while being the play in 7 of the last 8 for the White Sox.
Totals Selection: Under
My reason for the prediction :
As stated, with the way in which these teams play, not many runs will indeed be scored in this matchup. In fact, the under has been the call recently not only for both teams, but, the pitchers that will be toeing the rubber on Wednesday in game 3 as well. In all, with the way in which both offenses tend to struggle at times at the plate, I happen to feel confident in backing the under in this instance, despite not knowing who the pitcher for Cleveland may be. Besides, the Indians staff is ranked near the top in strikeouts along with the quality start categories.
