Pick, Prediction, & Preview:
Colorado Rockies vs Philadelphia Phillies
The Phillies will welcome the Rockies to Citizens Bank Park as the two teams will go head to head in a 3 game series. The Phillies are 3rd in the NL East while the Rockies are 4th in the NL West. This will be their first meeting of the season.
Colorado Rockies's Latest Performance :
The Rockies weren’t able to handle the D-Backs as they lost in a three-game series sweep the Rockies have now been swept twice at home this season. As a result, the Rockies dropped into 4th place with a record of 32-33 they dropped below .500 for the first time since April 11, things can turn in a hurry because how balanced are the team in the NL West, the Rockies are now 3 1/2 games behind the D-Backs after being on top of the division a few weeks ago. The Rockies will be on the road for the next 6 games, they are 21-14 on the season, the Rockies are a much better team on the road but they are facing a very strong home team the Phillies.
Ian Desmond went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI. This was his first multi-hit game in nine June outings. He is slashing an awful .195/.266/.391 with 35 RBIs with 11 homers on the year. After dominating teams left and right with their batting, the Rockies took a hit in this homestand although I think they should be fine on the road as this team thrives when playing on the road this season. The Rockies have quality batters that can take over games such as Arenado and Blackmon who can heat up in hurry.
Pitching for the Rockies will be Tyler Anderson. He matched a season-high with seven innings and held the Reds to two runs on five hits in his last start, which was a no-decision. He is hoping to end the team 3 game skid by playing well on the road against the Rockies. The team will definitely need his pitches to be on point as they will take on the Phillies on the road.
Philadelphia Phillies's Latest Performance :
The Phillies were able to redeem themselves after losing the first 2 games against the Brewers by giving up 24 runs the Phillies were able to run the rubber game to avoid the series sweep. Next up for the Phillies, they will be playing against the Rockies in a 3 game series. The Phillies are 20-11 when playing at home so it was very rare for them to get blown out at home for two games straight. The Phillies now drop to 3rd place in the NL East division with a record of 33-30. The team hasn’t been batting well so far as they will hope they can find their offense in the Series against the Rockies.
Rhys Hoskins went 0-for-3 but did drive in two runs. He picked up his first RBI on a grounder to short in the first inning, and he added a sacrifice fly in the fifth to give Philadelphia a 3-2 lead. He’s now up to 33 runs batted in on the 2018 season, but he’s still struggling to hit for average, and the 0-for-3 drops it to .235 this year over 54 games. He is hoping to rediscover his batting stroke because the Phillies are normally a solid team at home.
Pitching for the Phillies will be Nick Pivetta. He has struggled since pitching seven scoreless innings May 21. He has failed to pitch more than five innings in each of his past three starts, posting a 5.79 ERA in that span. Opponents have a .785 OPS against him.

Against The Spread Selection: Colorado Rockies
My reason for the pick :
The Rockies will be rejuvenated when they hit the road as they will be able to pick up where they left off. They should be able to beat out the Phillies on the road, it won’t be an easy win for the Rockies but the team batters should be able to find their rhythm on the road again. They must really frustrated after spending weeks on top of the division and now they have a losing record again. I expect the Rockies to play really well on the road, keep an eye on them they will be back on top in no time.
