The Cubs will hope to bounce back after losing two straight games both in a shutout against the Brewers. The Cubs are 19-14 when playing on the road this season. Coming into this series the Cubs are 2nd best in the major in pitching with a 3.17 ERA on the season and 7th in batting with 318 runs scored this season. The Cubs should just move on from the two shutout losses and focus on this game as there are plenty of games to be played before the season ends.
Javier Baez notched two hits and also stole his 12th base of the season. He was responsible for two of the Cubs’ six hits as well as Chicago’s only extra-base hit. has He has been arguably the Cubs’ best player this year, leading the team in home runs with 14, 46 RBIs, 12 stolen bases and 37 runs scored. Against The Spread Selection: Chicago Cubs
My reason for the pick :
The Cubs will be able to bounce back from their shutout losses against the Brewers to steal a game on the road against the Cards. Kris Bryant will end his homer streak against the Cards. I expect him to ready to go after the team gave him a day off. The Cubs will have to be on their A-game because they can’t afford the Brewers to have a comfortable lead on top of the NL Central division. This game will go down to the wire as both teams are equally matched.
