Pick, Prediction, & Preview:
Miami Marlins vs Baltimore Orioles
The Orioles will welcome the Marlins to Oriole Park as the two teams will go head to head in an interleague 3 game series starting Friday. The Orioles are in the last place of the AL East while the Marlins are last in the NL East. This will be their first meeting of the year.
Miami Marlins's Latest Performance :
The Marlins are on a verge of grabbing a series win at home over the Giants. They will now hit the road to begin their 9 game road trip as they will be facing the O’s in a three-game series. The team will hope that the players will able to carry over the momentum that they had at home on to the road. The Marlins offense has picked up in these last few games they have scored 10 runs in their last 2 games. The Marlins are 12-22 when playing on the road, when two bad teams are playing each other you expect a high scoring game because neither team will have quality pitchers.
J.T. Riddle went 1-for-3 and drove in a pair of runs. His two-run double off of Chris Stratton gave the Marlins a 3-1 lead in the third inning, which wound up being the only offensive output made conducted by the Marlins. Despite his impressive showing in his last performance he hasn’t produced much in his brief time with the Marlins, hitting a mere .212/.226/.346 with no homers and two RBI in 54 plate appearances. He is hoping he will be able to turn things around when he hits the road.
Pitching for the Marlins will be Jose Urena. He has worked at least six innings in five of his last six starts. But he remains snake-bitten, as his team averages 3.51 runs of support with him on the mound. In his last outing, he gave up three runs in six innings against the Padres.
Baltimore Orioles's Latest Performance :
The Orioles are on the verge of getting swept by the Red Sox at home, this will be their 2nd straight sweep and both teams are from the same division which is AL East (the Blue Jays and the Red Sox) they are hoping to end this homestand on a good note by playing against the Marlins in a three-game series. The O’s are now the worst batting team in the league with 233 runs scored this season. They are now also the worst team in the Major with only 19 wins this season.
Joey Rickard led off the bottom of the first inning with a home run in Tuesday’s loss to the Red Sox. Rickard took Eduardo Rodriguez just over the left field wall to get the scoring going. He also scored the Orioles’ second run of the night after walking in the third. Rickard has just two hits over his last 10 games but both of them were homers. The is hoping that he can put up an impressive batting performance against the Marlins.
Danny Valencia went 1-for-5 with a double and a walk in his return to action. He was held out of Sunday’s lineup due to illness, but it didn’t keep him sidelined for long. He should be fine moving forward. Valencia owns a solid .282/.347/.481 with six homers and 15 RBI over 41 games this season.
Pitching for the O’s will be Kevin Gausman. He surrendered three runs in 6 2/3 innings and did not factor into the decision against the Blue Jays on Saturday. He struck out six batters without issuing a walk and allowed nine base hits. He is 3-5 on the season with a 4.58 ERA after 13 starts. He has amassed 74 strikeouts, 17 walks and 14 home runs allowed.
How Miami Marlins & Baltimore Orioles Matchup.
Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

Marlins are 16-35 in their last 51 after allowing 5 runs or more in their previous game.
Against The Spread Selection: Miami Marlins
My reason for the pick :
I have to roll with the Marlins on this one, they will be able to carry over the momentum they had in their previous series against the Giants. The Marlins batters seem to play with more confidence as their batting efforts have been rewarded. The O’s struggles will continue as they will have a tough time getting anything going at this point in time and with various trade rumors that their best batter Manny Machado will get traded soon the O’s are unlikely to pick up a win anytime soon.
Betting trends for Miami Marlins:
- Marlins are 5-12 in their last 17 games on grass.
Betting trends for Baltimore Orioles:
- Orioles are 3-15 in their last 18 after allowing 2 runs or less in their previous game.
