Chicago White Sox vs Cleveland Indians
The Cleveland Indians welcome the Chicago White Sox to Progressive Field in an AL Central match-up on Monday night. The Indians lost at home on Friday to another division rival, the Minnesota Twins while the White Sox are coming off of a series split with the Indians last week and a loss to Detroit on Friday. The White Sox are twelve games back, but the division isn’t being dominated by any single team. Cleveland is leading the division and is fighting to stay in first place.
The White Sox will start right-hander Dylan Covey (3-1, 2.29 ERA) against Cleveland ace Trevor Bauer (5-5, 2.69 ERA) in game one of their 3-game series.
Chicago White Sox's Latest Performance :
The Chicago White Sox have dropped their last two and are slipping further and further back in the division. Manager Rick Renteria was hoping pitching prospect Michael Kopech could help his team in the near future, but Kopech got lit up in his Triple-A game on Thursday night erasing those hopes. At least Miguel Cabrera’s surgery went well and will back in time for spring training. Can the White Sox turn this season around and string together some wins to remain competitive in the Central division? Only time will tell.
Cleveland Indians's Latest Performance :
The Cleveland Indians haven’t exactly been consistent in division games. They may be in first place, but they have proven to be beatable on any given day. That point was proven on Friday night after the Indians Cy Young superstar lost his first start of the season. Corey Kluber started the game 5-0 with a .0.76 ERA against AL Central teams. He was pulled after 5 innings and the Indians went on to lose 6-3.
To make matters worse for Cleveland, the Tigers are 3.5 games back and closing quickly on the Indians riding a 3-game win streak. Cleveland needs to step up their play or the Central will be up for grabs sooner than later.

In-Depth Analysis of each team:
Both teams match-up fairly well as do just about any teams in this division. No one is dominating and they are all beating each other at will. This game and series won’t be any different. Both teams can generate offense. It may not be all that consistent, but if the pitching falls apart as it has in recent games, then this game will be decided on defense and the ability for once of the teams to advance runners to home plate. Each team has a solid pitcher on the mound, so look for this to be a tight smartly won game.
