Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

New York Mets vs Colorado Rockies

The Rockies will welcome the Mets to Coors Field as both teams will go head to head in a 3 game series. The Rockies are in the 3rd place of the NL West division while the Mets are in the 4th place in the NL East. This will be their 2nd meeting of the season, in their first meeting the Rockies ended up sweeping the Mets on the road.

New York Mets's Latest Performance :

The Mets have now lost 4 straight games and from the looks of it, they are on the verge of yet another series loss. The Mets will close out their 10 game road trip by playing against the Rockies in a 4 game series. The Mets are currently 0-4 in the 10 game road trip despite beating the Yankees before they began this road trip. The Mets are 15-17 when playing on the road this season. Coming into this series the Mets are 19th in pitching with a 4.16 ERA. The Mets have been hitless in these couple of stretches as they have dropped to 28th in scoring with 245 runs scored. In their last 4 road games, the Mets were only able to score 8 total runs. Playing against the Rockies who has been struggling at home all season would definitely give them the opportunity to pick up a road win at Coors Field.

Dominic Smith went 2-for-4 with a homer. It was the first of the season for the first baseman, and it came off of Zack Godley in the fourth inning. He also doubled in his last performance. He has put up some great individuals numbers since being called up from the Triple-A but there is nothing he can do if the team is having trouble on the plate. He is slashing .308/.357/.615 with only 6 games under his belt.

Pitching for the Mets will be Jacob deGrom. He is the only two pitchers have made five consecutive starts of at least seven innings with two or fewer earned runs, and seen their team lose all five. In his last 11 starts, deGrom owns a 1.16 ERA. The Mets are 2-9 in those games. He hopes that the Mets can turn things around when playing at Coors Field.

Colorado Rockies's Latest Performance :

The Rockies will return to Coors Field as they will begin their 7 game homestand starting on Wednesday as they will be playing against the Mets in a 4 game series. The Rockies will be very glad that they got matched up with the Mets at home because the Mets are not playing so well as of late. The Rockies will have an opportunity to improve their record at home as they are 11-19 when playing at home this season. The sooner the Rockies figure out their woes at home they will become very hard to stop.

Nolan Arenado finished 3-for-4 with a solo homer, two doubles, one walk, three RBI, and three runs. He is starting to regain his confidence on the plate again the only thing he needs to do now is duplicate what he does on the road into Coors Field. He hitless over his last four games this was a good way to bust out the skid that he had. His line this season is .312/.406/.557 with 13 homers and 40 RBI over 63 games. I expect him to do really well against the Mets.

Trevor Story went 2-for-5 with two RBI and a stolen base. He drove in a run on a single in the second inning and later doubled home a run in the seventh. He leads the National League with 52 RBI and is hitting .272/.344/.529 with 14 homers and nine steals over 69 games.

Pitching for the Rockies will be Tyler Anderson. He let in just one run over seven innings and was credited with a win against the Phillies on Wednesday. He is  4-1 on the season with a 4.48 ERA after 14 starts.

How New York Mets & Colorado Rockies Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

Rockies are 2-6 in their last 8 overall.

Mets are 0-4 in their last 4 road games.

Against The Spread Selection: Colorado Rockies

My reason for the pick :

The Rockies will pick up a surprising home win against the Mets as Arenado will show up on the plate leading the Rockies to a win at home. As for the Mets they will continue to lose and seems like this season is starting to look like a lost season after the team started out the season winning 9 straight games, it has been a really disappointing month for the Mets and I expect that trend to continue for a while.

Betting trends for New York Mets:

  • Mets are 7-16 in their last 23 vs. National League West.

Betting trends for Colorado Rockies:

  • Rockies are 4-9 in their last 13 games following a win.
