Detroit Tigers vs Cleveland Indians
The Indians will welcome the Tigers to Progressive Field as both teams will go head to head in a 3 game series starting Friday. The Indians are first in the AL Central division while the Tigers are in the 2nd place. This will be their 4th meeting of the season, the Indians currently lead the season series 2-1.
Game 1: 7:10 PM ET
Game 2: 6:10 PM ET
Game 3: 1:10 PM ET
Detroit Tigers's Latest Performance :
The Tigers will end their 8 game road trip as they will take on the division leader Indians in a three-game series, the Tigers trail the Indians by 4 games in the standings so if they are able to pull off a series split and cut the gap down to 2 games that would definitely help the Tigers going forward. The Tigers are not a great road team this season they are 13-21 when playing on the road this year so they will have to do all they can when they visit Progressive Field. Coming into this series the Tigers are 22nd in pitching with a 4.27 ERA and 17th in scoring with 310 runs scored this season.
Player to watch in this series: Leonys Martin, went 3-for-3 with a double, two RBI and two walks. He’s hitting .266/.337/.464 in 237 at-bats, the Tigers weren’t able to figure out the Sal Romano pitches causing them to lose the game. Martin will have to be on his A game for the Tigers to even have a chance to win at home against the Indians, they are hoping to start another win streak after their previous win streak ended at 5. It won’t be an easy series for Martin considering how well the Indians are playing at home this season.
- RBIs: Nicholas Castellanos (41)

Probable Pitchers for this series:
Game 1: Francisco Liriano, he will be back on the mound for the Tigers after suffering from a hamstring injury, he has a 3.90 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, and 45/29 K/BB ratio over his first 57 innings (10 starts) this season with the Tigers.
Game 2: Mike Fiers, he gave up three runs on eight hits over 5 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the White Sox on Friday. He owns a 4.09 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 54/15 K/BB ratio over 72 2/3 innings on the season
Game 3: Jordan Zimmermann, he allowed four runs on four hits over his five innings in his return from the DL list. He is 2-0 on the season with a 5.20 striking out 36 on the season.
Cleveland Indians's Latest Performance :
The Indians will cap off their 9 game homestand by going up against the Tigers in a three-game set. The Indians are on top of the AL Central division with a record of 39-33 they have a four-game lead over the second place Tigers. The Indians are 23-13 when playing at home this season they are very hard to beat at home this season. Coming into this series the Indians are 5th best in batting with 346 runs scored this season and 16th in pitching with a 4.03 ERA. Mike Clevinger came through for the Indians in their last game striking out 10 and allowing only 1 run over 7 2/3 innings.
Player to watch in this series: Francisco Lindor, he went 2 for 4 in his last performance as he came up clutch for the Indians, he’s slashing .290/.362/.529 with 16 home runs, 40 RBI, 54 runs scored and nine steals across 297 at-bats he is all around player that can produce some huge numbers when needed. I expect he should play a big role in the 3 game series against their division rivals the Tigers. Lindor will have to play at his best as he can’t afford to let the Tigers cut into their lead on top of the division.

Against The Spread Selection: Cleveland Indians
My reason for the pick :
The Indians will beat out the Tigers at home 2-1 in the 3 game series. The Indians remains strong at home as the Tigers won’t be able to figure out the Indians pitchers. In game 1 the Tigers will surprise the Indians by stealing the series opener as Plutko will give up runs to the Tigers early ultimately costing the Indians the game however the Indians will respond by winning game 2 and 3 with masterful pitching performances from Bieber and Bauer. With this series win, the Indians will be able to extend the lead on top of the AL Central division and start to pull away from the Tigers.
