Pick, Prediction, & Preview:
Cincinnati Reds vs Atlanta Braves
The Atlanta Braves begin their 3-games series on Monday against the Cincinnati Reds at Suntrust Park. The Braves are holding onto a 3-game lead in the tight NL East while the Reds have a firm grip on last place in the NL Central. Surprisingly, the Reds have reeled off four wins in a row including one at home against the second place Cubs. These two teams are on different paths with the Reds looking to play the role of spoiler during this series.
This series shouldn’t be much of a series even though the Reds are winning.
Cincinnati Reds's Latest Performance :
The Cincinnati Reds are having a tough year. It’s never fun to be in last place, but at least they are on a win streak while sitting at the bottom of the heap. During their win streak, Jesse Winker blasted his first ever grand slam home run to lift the Reds past division rival Chicago Cubs. They are sitting a healthy seventeen games back and seven back behind the fourth place Pirates. They hope the streak will last, but given their issues, it shouldn’t last much longer.
Atlanta Braves's Latest Performance :
The Atlanta Braves are first in the division with the Nationals riding their tales only three games back. The Braves have won seven of their last ten with hopes of getting to the break still clinging to the number one spot. The Braves have made several shifts in the line-up as of late due to injuries and a need for some depth in the outfield. Pitcher’s Mike Soroka and Jose Ramirez have been placed on DL for shoulder issues and Danny Santana was called up from Triple-A to give the outfield some support and add some offense in the batter’s box.

In-Depth Analysis of each team:
MLB has so many bad teams this season, most of the series aren’t all that competitive. This is just another example of one of those series. The best vs. the worst. With the Reds riding their current win streak, maybe they steal a game from the Braves and keep them on their toes. But don’t look for them to sweep a first-place team anytime soon.
