The Marlins will welcome the D-Backs to Marlins Park as the two teams will face off in a 4 game series starting Monday. The Marlins are in the last place of the NL East and the D-Backs are in the first place of the NL West. This will be their second meeting of the season, in the first meeting the D-Backs ended up sweeping the Marlins at home.
Game 1-3: 7:10 PM ET
Game 4: 12:10 PM ET
Arizona Diamondbacks's Latest Performance :
The D-Backs are on the verge of defeating the Pirates in a 4 game series as they will cap off their 10 game road trip by going up against the Marlins in a 4 game set. The D-Backs are now back on top of the NL West division with a record of 42-33 they are 19-17 when playing away from home. Coming into this series the D-Backs are 15th in scoring with 334 runs scored this season and 5th best in the Majors when it comes to pitching they have a 3.48 ERA. The D-Backs got elite pitchers that can put the team in a great position to win the game.
Player to watch in this series: Paul Goldschmidt, he has been a tear lately for the D-Backs after he couldn’t hit the ball for quite some time, it looks like he has rediscovered his mojo on the plate once again, hitting just .144 in the month of May he is rolling to the tune of a .423 (30-for-71) average in June. He now has 40 RBIs on the season to go along with 16 home runs.
- RBIs: Both Daniel Descalso and Paul Goldschmidt have 40.
- Homers: Paul Goldschmidt (16)
- Batting Average: David Peralta (.277)
Probable Pitchers for this series:
Game 1: Shelby Miller, he is making his first start since April 23, 2017, when he tore his ulnar collateral ligament. He underwent Tommy John surgery a couple of weeks later. He made four appearances in extended spring games and four more on a Minor League rehab stint.
Game 2: Zack Godley, he allowed three runs, two earned over six innings in a win over the Pirates on Thursday. He is now working with a 4.64 ERA with a 1.49 WHIP, he is 8-5 on the season.
Game 3: Patrick Corbin, he struck out 12 batters (career high) over seven scoreless frames against the Pirates on Friday, but was forced to settle for a no-decision. He will take on the Marlins on Wednesday.
Game 4: Zack Greinke, he allowed three runs over 6 1/3 innings in a victory over the Angels on Monday. He is working on a 3.90 ERA and an impressive 95/19 strikeout-to-walk ratio. He will conclude the four-game series for the D-Backs on the road.
Miami Marlins's Latest Performance :
The Marlins will be back at Marlins Park for a 10 game homestand beginning Monday. The homestand opens with a four-game series against the Diamondbacks. The Marlins are 14-21 when playing at home this season and they are in the last place of the NL East division. The Marlins are currently on a three-game losing streak and things won’t get any easier as they will go up against the D-Backs. Coming into this series the Marlins are 28th in pitching with a 4.90 ERA and they are the worst team in the Major when it comes to scoring with only 269 runs scored and we are already 76 games into the season. The Marlins have given up double-digits runs 10 times this season and they are 0-10 on the season.
Player to watch in this series: J.T. Realmuto, finished 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles and an RBI. He is putting up the best offensive numbers of any backstop in the National League and doing all he can for the Marlins to win but it seems like it is unlikely going to happen. He is putting great numbers on a team. He is slashing .304/.360/.535 with 27 RBIs and 9 homers. He would thrive in a winning environment because he would be able to feed off other great batters energy, he should play well against the D-Backs because he knows that everyone in the Majors is watching him.
- RBIs: Brian Anderson (36)
- Homers: Justin Bour (12)
- Batting Average: Brian Anderson (.299)
Probable Pitchers for this series:
Game 1: Dan Straily, he was ejected after 1 1/3 innings in his last start at San Francisco. He faces the D-backs for the second time this year. On June 3, he gave up one run in 4 1/3 innings in a loss at Arizona. Straily has a 6.62 ERA in four home starts.
Game 2: Jarlin Garcia, he will get another opportunity in the starting rotation after being sent down to Triple-A New Orleans. He is working with a 4.41 ERA and 1.22 WHIP.
Game 3: Wei-Yin Chen, he was tagged for seven earned runs, nine hits and a walk with three strikeouts over four innings at Colorado on Friday. He will get a tough matchup in his next start as he will go up against the D-Backs batters.
Game 4: Trevor Richards, he gave up six runs on nine hits over 3 1/3 innings in a loss to the Orioles on Sunday. He is 1-4 on the season and owns a 5.45 ERA with a 1.53 WHIP.

Against The Spread Selection: Arizona Diamondbacks
My reason for the pick :
The D-Backs should be able to take care of business on the road against the Marlins I predict that the D-Backs will go for a sweep on the road against the Marlins. The level of talent of the Marlins isn’t quite there yet to compete against the D-Backs although the Marlins got a very talented batter who they could use to either build the team around or trade him for assets and start the rebuilding. It is that point of the season now where the D-Backs can’t afford to drop any more games because they are well aware of how well the Dodgers have been playing and they could take over the division at any point. So when the D-Backs got an opportunity to play a bad team like the Marlins they should take advantage and give them no chance of beating this Arizona team.
Betting trends for Arizona Diamondbacks:

Betting trends for Miami Marlins:
- Marlins are 6-21 in their last 27 when their opponent scores 5 runs or more in their previous game.
