Colorado Rockies vs San Francisco Giants
The Colorado Rockies visit the San Francisco Giants at AT&T Park on Tuesday for round three this season in a three-game series for third place in the NL West. In the first two meetings, the Rockies were on the losing end only winning three out of seven games. They are looking for some redemption in an extremely close race in a fairly mediocre division. The Giants have a half-game lead on the Rockies and are four games back behind the Diamondbacks.
On the mound, the Rockies will start Chad Bettis (5-1, 5.23 ERA) against Derek Holland (5-7, 4.48 ERA) in game one. Game two will feature Rockies starter Kyle Freeland (7-6, 3.55 ERA) against Madison Bumgarner (1-2, 3.20 ERA) and game three the Rockies will start Jon Gray (6-7, 5.89 ERA) against fellow righty Chris Stratton (4-2, 4.88 ERA).
Colorado Rockies's Latest Performance :
The Rockies are chasing the Giants and need to rack up some wins. As competitive as the Western division is, every game is like a playoff game from here on out. The Rockies had a nice four-game win streak going until Miami stole the last game in their series and ended the streak on Saturday. The Rockies are looking to get on another role and take over that third spot in the division. They’ve proven they can win at San Francisco after splitting their first meeting this season. They’ll need to rely on some strong pitching and consistent defense to pull off a series win.
San Francisco Giants's Latest Performance :
The San Francisco Giants are having some difficulties in the outfield and need desperately to solve the revolving door in left field. They have three guys that can play the position, but Manager Bruce Bochy called up Austin Slater from Triple-A to be that fourth guy in hopes of getting some consistency in the rotation. Beyond that, the Giants pitching (especially Bumgarner), is starting to come around. He blanked the Padres on Thursday for eight innings and is looking for a repeat performance in this series.

In-Depth Analysis of each team:
These two teams are well matched. They both are having their struggles in the bullpen and lack consistent offense at the plate. If their previous two series are any indication, this should be an entertaining hotly contested match-up that could certainly go either way. It will take a full team effort for either team to win this series and take hold of third place. It’s like having the playoffs in June.
