Los Angeles Angels's Latest Performance :
The Angels are currently on a 4 game losing streak as they haven’t been playing well at all lately, they will be to bounce back when they play the O’s on the road in a 3 game set. The Angels are now in 4th place of the AL West division with a record of 41-39 and they are 21-18 when playing at home this season. They will be coming off a hard-fought series against the Red Sox so they will be looking forward to playing the O’s. Coming into this series the Angels are 12th in pitching with a 3.84 ERA and 10th in scoring with 355 runs scored this season.
Player to watch in this series: Mike Trout, he will come out firing on all cylinders as he will look to take advantage of this O’s team, his team is now 11 1/2 games behind the top spot in the division. If the Angels want to make the postseason they will have to start a run and win games against winnable teams such as the O’s. He must not let his injured finger bother him too much and let the game come to him because right now the Angels are desperate for some offense, if anyone is going to make the Angels revenant again it has to be their leader Mike Trout. He is slashing .324/.459/.651 with 23 homers and 48 RBIs on the year.
- RBIs: Mike Trout (48)
- Homers: Mike Trout (23)
- Batting Average: Mike Trout (.324)
Probable Pitchers for this series:
Game 1: Felix Pena, he allowed three earned runs, eight hits and a walk with six strikeouts over five innings in a no-decision Sunday against Toronto. He will start things off for the Angels on the road in the series opener. He has yet to pick up a win this season.
Game 2: Tyler Skaggs, he pitched seven innings of one-run ball Monday in a loss to the Royals. He is 6-5 on the season and working on a 2.69 ERA. He takes the mound on Saturday.
Game 3: John Lamb, He will get his 3rd start of the season, he surrendered three runs on six hits over 3 1/3 innings in Thursday’s win over the Blue Jays in his last performance. He has allowed a combined five runs on nine hits over 8 1/3 innings while posting a 9/2 K/BB ratio.
Baltimore Orioles's Latest Performance :
The Orioles will cap off their 6 game homestand as they will be playing against the Angels in a 3 game set on Friday, they are in the last place of the AL Division with a record of 23-55, they are 11-25 when playing at home this season. The O’s are on verge of getting swept by the Mariners and their task doesn’t get any easier because the Angels will come to visit and they are desperate for a win because they haven’t been playing well. Coming into this series the O’s are 29th in batting with 283 runs scored this season and 27th in pitching with a 2.85 ERA.
Player to watch in this series: Danny Valencia, he struck a solo home run and added a single in his last performance, he was the only Oriole to reach base three times. He had a rough April but has hit well since May to the point that the O’s are now willing to use him some in the outfield, he will continue to play well for the O’s against the Angels. The O’s will have to prepare life after Manny Machado as he rumored to be traded to the D-Backs in the Future. Valencia is slashing .287/.354/.467 with 20 RBIs and 7 homers on the year.
- RBIs: Manny Machado (55)
- Homers: Manny Machado (19)
- Batting Average: Manny Machado (.301)
Probable Pitchers for this series:
Game 1: David Hess, he allowed five runs over four innings in a loss to the Braves. It’s three-straight starts that the left-hander has allowed five runs. He now owns a 5.46 ERA and will look to bounce back against the Angels in the series opener.
Game 2: Andrew Cashner, he takes the mound for the O’s in the second game against the Angels, he allowed 4 hits and 3 runs and 3 earned runs in 6 innings. He is now 2-8 on the year with a 4.70 ERA.
Game 3: Kevin Gausman, in his last outing against the Mariners he went six strong innings holding the Mariners to only 5 hits but he was on the losing end, he drops to 3-7 on the season. He will close things out for the O’s in the rubber game against the Angels.
How Los Angeles Angels & Baltimore Orioles Matchup.
Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:
Orioles are 1-10 in their last 11 vs. American League West.
Angels are 4-10 in their last 14 overall.
Against The Spread Selection: Los Angeles Angels
My reason for the pick :
The Angels should be able to beat out the O’s on the road as I predict a series sweep for the Angels. The Angels will be able to bounce back after a hard-fought series against the Red Sox. Mike Trout will have a monster series against the O’s on the road, the talent is there but the Angels are unfortunate that they are dealing with several injuries that are causing them to lose out on games. Once the Angels are healthy they are a very tough team to beat but as for right now, they must take advantage of any bad team that they play if not their strong start to the season will end up becoming a waste. Don’t give up on the Angels just yet they will be back.
Angels to sweep the O’s on the road.
