The Brewers will welcome the Braves to Miller Park as the two top teams from the National Leauge will go head to head in four-game series starting on Thursday. The Brewers are first in the NL Central division while the Braves are on top of the NL East division. This will be their first meeting of the season.

Game 1&2: 8:10 PM ET

Game 3: 4:10 PM ET

Game 4: 2:10 PM ET

Atlanta Braves's Latest Performance :

The Braves are no longer a surprise anymore they are starting to look like a team that can really go deep into the postseason and the scary thing is they got the pieces to make it happen. The Braves are coming off a dominant series opener victory over the Yankees that went 11 innings. The Braves are on top of the NL East division and are enjoying a comfortable 3 1/2 game lead over the second place the Phillies. Coming into this series the Braves are 6th in batting with 418 runs scored this season and 10th in pitching with a 3.68 ERA.

Player to watch in this series: Ronald Acuna, he starting to heat up for the Braves again after an impressive start to the season as he hit a two-run homer off David Robertson in the top of the 11th and came up in the clutch and secured the road victory for the Braves against a very elite team, the series against the Brewers it has his name written all over I expect him to have a huge impact in this series he has to play well in order for the Braves to win this series against the Brewers on the road. He’s 6-for-18 with two homers in four games. On the season he is slashing .274/.331/.496 with 18 RBIs and 7 homers expect his numbers to go way up.

Team leaders:

  • RBIs: Freddie Freeman and Nick Markakis both have 56.
  • Homers: Ozzie Albies (17)
  • Batting Average: Nick Markakis (.324)

Probable Pitchers for this series:

Game 1: Max Fried, he struck out 11 hitters in 6 2/3 shutout innings in an 11-4 rout of the Cardinals on Saturday. He will take the mound Thursday against the Brewer.

Game 2: Mike Foltynewicz,  he struck out nine batters over five scoreless innings Sunday in a win against the Cardinals. He will carry a brilliant 2.02 ERA into his next start on the road against the Brewers.

Game 3: Anibal Sanchez, he allowed three runs in six innings Monday in a no-decision against the Yankees.  He has been remarkably solid for Atlanta, he owns a 2.89 ERA in his nine starts and one relief appearance.

Game 4: Sean Newcomb, he allowed three runs over six innings Wednesday in a no-decision versus the Reds. Twelve of his 16 outings this season have been of the “quality start” He is 8-2 on the year as he will close things off for the Brave against the Brewers in the rubber game.

Milwaukee Brewers's Latest Performance :

The Brewers will cap off a 7 game homestand as they will be playing against the Braves in a 4 game set, the Brewers were able to bounce back after losing out the series against the Reds winning the series against the Twins now they will face a tough task as they will welcome the NL East leaders Braves they are a very good road team, despite the hiccup the Brewers are still first in the NL Central division but the Cubs are only one game behind. The Brewers are 25-17 when playing at home this season. Coming into this series the Brewers are 8th in pitching with a 3.61 ERA and 16th in batting with 368 runs scored this season. Playing against the Braves will allow them to see how they compete against a top team from the same league since it is their first meeting of the season.

Player to watch in this series: Brad Miller, went 3-for-5 with a walk-off in the bottom of the 10th. He worked the game-ending walk against Zack Littell. Before that, he started the game-tying rally by singling with one out in the ninth against Fernando Rodney. He also singled in a run in the fifth, so he had two RBI on the night. He always seems to find himself in the right spot and pulling out victories for the Brewers when needed, I suspect he should play a major role at home when the Brewer plays the Braves. He is slashing .270/.338/.443 with 27 RBIs and 6 homers.

Team leaders:

  • RBIs: Jesus Aguilar (55)
  • Homers: Jesus Aguilar (19)
  • Batting Average: Lorenzo Cain (.291)

Probable Pitchers for this series:

Game 1: Jhoulys Chacin, he gave up one run in five innings but had to settle for a no-decision in a game his team eventually lost to the Reds on Saturday. He struck out five, walked three and surrendered four hits in the contest. His record holds at 6-3 with a 3.71 ERA and 1.34 WHIP through 18 starts. He will face the Braves on Thursday.

Game 2: Freddy Peralta, he gave up three runs in five innings in a loss to the Reds on Sunday. He has to improve his pitching in the first inning as the teams will look to attack early which makes it hard for the Brewers to pull out a comeback win. He will look to get off to a better start on Friday when he goes against the Braves.

Game 3: Brent Suter, he allowed five runs and nine hits in five innings Monday against the Twins. He has given up nine runs over 11 innings in his last two starts, taking his ERA back up to 4.53.

Game 4: Junior Guerra, he struck out six over six innings of four-run baseball in Thursday’s victory over the Reds. He now sits at 4-5 with a 3.05 ERA and 1.20 WHIP on the season he will close things out for the Brewers against the Braves on Sunday.

How Atlanta Braves & Milwaukee Brewers Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

Brewers are 13-5 in their last 18 home games vs. a right-handed starter.

Braves are 11-1 in their last 12 vs. a team with a winning record.

Against The Spread Selection: Atlanta Braves

My reason for the pick :

The Braves will pick up a convincing 3-1 series win over the Brewers on the road, the Braves will be coming off a hard-fought series against the Yankees and the quality of baseball that the Braves have been playing in the previous series will transfer into this series against the Brewers and I expect the Braves to catch the Brewers by surprised and dominate the series from the get-go. Since it is their first meeting this season the Brewers don’t know what to expect from the Braves batter but they will soon find out that these Braves batters such as Ozzie, Freeman, and Acuna are for real despite their age nevertheless it is a series that you don’t want to miss.

The Braves to beat the Brewers on the road 3-1 in the National league showdown.

Betting trends for Atlanta Braves:

  • Braves are 4-0 in their last 4 road games.

Betting trends for Milwaukee Brewers:

  • Brewers are 23-11 in their last 34 home games.
