The Mariners will welcome the Rockies to Safeco Field as the two teams will go head to head in a three-game interleague series starting on Friday. The Mariners are 2nd in the AL West while the Rockies are 4th in the NL West division. This will be their first meeting of the season.

Colorado Rockies's Latest Performance :
The Rockies will hit the road for a short interleague 3 game series against the Mariners, the Rockies will be glad to play away from home they are 26-21 on the season, after leading the division for a couple of weeks the Rockies have now fallen to 4th place in the division with a .500 record at 43-43, they have now won 5 of their last 6 games. The Rockies are a team filled with talent but they can’t seem to figure out a way to gel it together at the start of the season they were hitting homers left and right have way through the season they seem to lose the fire they had to start the season. The Rockies must get their pitching together as they are 29th in the Major when it comes to pitching with a 4.91 ERA and 8th in batting with 405 runs scored this season.
Player to watch in this series: Nolan Arenado, he hit his fourth homer in six days Tuesday in the Rockies’ rout of the Giants. He is hoping that he will be able to carry his impressive hitting performance against the Giants against a very strong Mariners team, Arenado lives for these moments as I predict that he will come through for the Rockies in a huge way on the road. He leads the NL with 22 homers, and his OPS climbed back over 1.000 tonight. He’s twice led the NL in homers and RBIs. His slash line this season is .313/.398/.605 with 63 RBIs and 22 homers which leads the team.
- RBIs: Nolan Arenado (63)
- Homers: Nolan Arenado (22)
- Batting Average: Nolan Arenado (.313)
Probable Pitchers for this series:
Game 1: German Marquez, he struck out nine over a career-high eight innings in his last start, a win over the Dodgers. He allowed one run on two hits. The right-hander has never previously faced the Mariners.
Game 2: Kyle Freeland, he gave up two early runs but nothing else in seven innings against the Giants while winning his last start. An improved changeup augments an aggressive glove-side arsenal for the left-hander.
Seattle Mariners's Latest Performance :
The Mariners will cap off their 9 game homestand as they will take on the Rockies in a three-game series the Mariners have now dropped into second place in the AL West after leading the division for quite some time but that was before the Astros went on a mean win streak and retook the AL West division from them. However, they are only 1/2 behind them because they themselves are currently on an 8 game winning streak. The Mariners are 29-14 when playing at home this season one of the best home records in the Majors. Coming into this series the Mariners are 13th in batting with 377 runs scored this season and 12th in pitching with a 3.89 ERA. They are hoping to keep this win streak alive when playing against the Rockies.
Player to watch in this series: Kyle Seager, he went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Tuesday’s 4-1 victory against the Angels. He has turned up the intensity in the average and power departments over the past couple of weeks. He will look to close out this homestand on the right foot against the Rockies. He is 15-for-47 (.319) with five doubles, three homers and 10 RBI over the past 13 outings to raise his average from .222 to .236 since June 19.
- RBIs: Mitch Haniger (62)
- Homers: Nelson Cruz (22)
- Batting Average: Jean Segura (.334)
Probable Pitchers for this series:
Game 1: Felix Hernandez, he allowed three earned runs, six hits, and a walk with five strikeouts over five innings in a victory against the visiting Royals. He is now 8-6 on the season. He’ll look for a third consecutive win Friday against German Marquez and the Rockies.
Game 2: James Paxon, he was able to rack up 11 strikeouts in his last start for the Mariners, he is 8-2 on the season, he will carry a 3.39 ERA, 1.07 WHIP as he will take the mound on Saturday against the Rockies.
Game 3: Wade LeBlanc, he allowed just one earned run, three hits and a walk with four strikeouts over seven innings in a win against the Angels on Tuesday. He is now 4-0 on the season with a 3.19 ERA. The Mariners are now an impressive 13-0 over LeBlanc’s past 13 starts at Safeco Field. He will close things out for the Mariners on Sunday.
How Colorado Rockies & Seattle Mariners Matchup.
Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:
Mariners are 9-2 in their last 11 home games vs. a team with a winning road record.
Rockies are 4-1 in their last 5 vs. a team with a winning record.
Against The Spread Selection: Seattle Mariners
My reason for the pick :
The Mariners will keep on rolling as I don’t see them losing anytime soon with the way they are playing, the Mariners will sweep the Rockies at home 3-0, the Mariners are unstoppable at the moment pitching is great and batters are finding the ball on the plate. It will be a tight race for the top spot in the AL West division. No one expected the Mariners to be this good this fast but they are certainly are proving a lot of people wrong. For the Rockies, it is unfortunate that they have to play against the Mariners for the first time and they are playing this well Arenado will do all he can but he will soon realize that he will need more than one batter to beat out this hot Mariners team at home.
The Mariners to sweep the Rockies at home to keep the winning streak alive.
