Philadelphia Phillies's Latest Performance :
The Phillies will cap off their 11 game road trip against the Marlins in a 3 game set, the Phillies are now the leader in the NL East division with a record of 51-39 they have a one-game lead over the second place Braves. The Phillies are not a good road team this season they are 21-23 but they will have the opportunity to improve their road record playing against a rebuilding team like the Marlins. Coming into this series the Phillies are 10th in pitching with a 3.85 ERA and 18th in batting with 392 runs scored this season.
Player to watch in this series: Maikel Franco, he had a three-run homer and an RBI single. He is 21-for-51 with three homers in his last 17 games, taking his OPS up to .790. He is batting .379 over his last 20 games. Franco should be a factor on the road against the Marlins he will definitely look to end the first half of the season on the right foot. On the season he is slashing .274/.323/.467 with 45 RBIs and 12 homers.

Miami Marlins's Latest Performance :
The Marlins will cap off their 6 game homestand by playing against the Phillies in a 3 game set, they are in the last place of the NL East division with a record of 38-56 they are 20-27 when playing at home. For the second half of the season, the Marlins should only be focusing on how they can make the team better for the future because as it stands right now the Marlins won’t be able to make any impact during the season going forward and playing the Phillies before the break will be a challenge for them. Coming into this series the Marlins are 26th in batting with 355 runs scored this season and 27th in pitching with a 4.82 ERA.
Player to watch in this series: Brian Anderson went 2 for 5 and scored an RBI in a losing effort against the Brewers. He recently got his on-base streak snapped at 24 games however he still remains a factor for this Marlins team nevertheless. In 361 at-bats this season, Anderson’s hitting .285/.360/.416 with seven home runs and 46 RBI. The offense is very hard to come by but Anderson still remains the bright spot on this losing team. He recorded his 30th multi-hit game, the most among all MLB rookies this season.
- RBIs: Brian Anderson (46)
- Homers: Justin Bour (14)
- Batting Average: Starlin Castro (.297)

Game 3: Jose Urena, he pitched 5 2/3 innings of two-run ball Monday in a no-decision against the Brewers. The Marlins are 4-2 in his last 6 starts he will be on the mound on Sunday in the rubber game to close things off for the Marlins against the Phillies.
How Philadelphia Phillies & Miami Marlins Matchup.
Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:
Marlins are 4-1 in their last 5 vs. a team with a winning record.
Phillies are 6-2 in their last 8 vs. a team with a losing record.
Against The Spread Selection: Philadelphia Phillies
My reason for the pick :
The Phillies should be able to sweep the Marlins on the road 3-0, this means that the Phillies will go into the All-Star break as leaders of the NL East division. The team’s pitching will come through for them on the road. For the Marlins it would be very hard for them to keep up with the Phillies offense as the Phillies batters are very familiar with the Marlins batters, with that being said I would expect a blowout victory in one of those 3 games. The Phillies will come into this series more motivated than ever since reclaiming the top spot in the division since May 26 and they won’t be giving up that position any time soon.
Betting trends for Philadelphia Phillies:
- Phillies are 7-3 in their last 10 vs. National League East.

- Marlins are 5-2 in their last 7 home games.
