NL All-Stars vs AL All-Stars
The 89th annual 2018 MLB All-Star Game will take place Tuesday night at Nationals Park in Washington, DC at 8:00 pm with the National League taking on the American league in a tied series dating back to 1933. Baseballs best will be on display as they battle to break the tie and walk away with bragging rights as MLB’s top dogs.
The American League has claimed eighteen of the last 21 All-Star games and is looking to make it six in a row. New York Yankees starter Luis Severino (14-2, 2.31 ERA) is looking get the nod against three-time Cy Young award winner, Max Scherzer (12-5, 2.41 ERA) on his own mound. Aside from the talented pool of pitchers on both teams, there’s no shortage of heavyweight sluggers looking to entertain the sold-out crowd.
NL All-Stars's Latest Performance :
The National League may have their hands full once again, but they aren’t exactly a foregone conclusion. Backing up Scherzer on the mound are some of the league’s best. All-Star pitchers like Nola, Mikolas, and Lester are sure to give AL batters some headaches. Their bullpen is also full of some nasty closers like Jansen, Bradley, and Doolittle who have the ability to shut down top sluggers at will.
The offense has often been the NL’s biggest struggle since neither team plays much defense. The Home Run Derby is full of NL hitters this year, but most of the league’s big-time sluggers from both sides will be sitting this one out. Fans will have to wait until the actual game to see their favorites up at the plate. There should definitely be some fireworks.
AL All-Stars's Latest Performance :
The American team is once again fully loaded and extremely dangerous. Starting with the pitchers, guys like Justin Verlander, Charlie Morton, and Cory Kluber back up Severino along with a nasty bullpen full of relievers who can close out any game. It won’t be an easy task with the loaded talent in the NL, but the AL has some of the best hitters in the league. Guys like Mike Trout and Mookie Betts are sure to top the batting order in an effort to score runs early and often.
The American league is once again on a roll and would like nothing more than to continue their current win streak as they attempt to break the tie. Most games are full of offense, but last’s year’s 2-1 victory was the lowest run total since 2013’s 3-0 shutout victory of the NL. Let’s hope this game is not only competitive but full of offense.

In-Depth Analysis of each team:
When the American League and the National League clash, it’s a classic best-of-the-best meeting that typically lacks in defense and promises a blitz of offense. When you have that much talent in one stadium, there’s sure to be some action from the getgo. Even though the series is literally tied up between the two teams, the American League has been quite dominant over the past couple of decades. Will this year be any different, only time will tell. Both teams are loaded with hall of fame caliber players and there’s always the feeling that either team could win the match-up. There will be some serious pitchers on the mound against some serious hitters at the plate. This should be another great game to watch.
