Chicago White Sox's Latest Performance :
The White Sox will begin their 7 game road trip against the Mariners, before the break the White Sox were able to put up 10 runs against the Royals. The White Sox are in 4th place of the AL Central with a record of 33-62. They have the worst road record in the Major they are 14-33 when playing on the road this season, it will be tough 3 game series for the White Sox playing against the Mariners who are eager to reclaim the top spot in their division, The White Sox will have to trust their talent development and hope that their players will be ready to go for next season so they aren’t really looking to make changes the key is controllable talent to add to the strong critical mass already built. Coming into this series the White Sox are 29th in pitching with a 4.92 ERA and 25th in batting with 384 runs scored this season.
Player to watch in this series: Jose Abreu, despite having a down year he was still able to find his way to the All-Star game. He is arguably the best White Sox player this season. He has a .256/.311/.444 slash line with 13 home runs and 52 RBI. He is one of the pieces that the White Sox would use as a cornerstone moving forward in the future. The All-Star will have to be on his A-game for the White Sox to compete against the Mariners on the road. The first baseman will have the opportunity to showcase his talents against a good team like the Mariners.
- RBIs: Jose Abreu (52)
- Homers: Matt Davidson (14)
- Batting Average: Yolmer Sanchez (.256)
Probable Pitchers for this series:
Game 1: James Shield, he is returning from the break with a 4.43 ERA and 92/49 over 126 innings. He will be on the mound against the Mariners in the series opener.
Game 2: Dylan Covey, he will look to bounce back after a bad first half of the season he is 3-5 on the season with a 5.69 ERA and 1.64. He will have to do all he can to secure his spot in the starting rotation.
Game 3: Reynaldo Lopez, he is 4-7 with a 3.91 ERA after 19 starts. He needs to improve his 82:47 strikeout-to-walk ratio in the second half of the season he will return to the mound in the rubber game against the Mariners.
Seattle Mariners's Latest Performance :
The Mariners will have one thing on their mind entering the second half of the season end the postseason drought. The Mariners have been playing great all season long despite the small slip making them fall into second place they are now 5 games back for the top spot of the division. I expect the Mariners to be active before the trade deadline as they will look to find some support for Ryon Healy in the batting department. The Mariners will have to play well to close out this season strong perhaps they should make a move for an experienced starter for when the game gets close he can calm things down on the mound. Coming into this series the Mariners are 20th in batting with 412 runs scored this season and 17th in pitching with 4.05 ERA. The Mariners are impressive at home this season they are 31-17.
Player to watch in this series: Mitch Haniger, he is coming off his first All-Star appearance, he was able to finish out the first half of the season strong slashing .272/.358/.488 with 37 extra-base hits, including 18 homers, and 67 RBI. His RBI rank eighth in the majors, and third in the American League. Playing against a rebuilding team like the White Sox would help the Mariners confidence heading into the second half of the season. The second half of the season would be a major test for this Mariners team.
- RBIs: Mitch Haniger (67)
- Homers: Nelson Cruz (22)
- Batting Average: Jean Segura (.323)

Game 1: Wade LeBlanc, he will return from the break to pitch in the series opener with a 3.63 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 66/18 K/BB ratio across 89 1/3 frames.
Game 2: Felix Hernandez, he will be returning from his back injury to pitch against the White Sox on Saturday. He owns a 5.13 ERA over 19 starts with an 8-7 record.
Game 3: Marco Gonzales, he became the 10th pitcher in franchise history to post at least 10 wins before the All-Star break. He is 10-5 on the season with a 3.41 ERA and 1.16 WHIP. He will close things out for the Mariners in the rubber game against the White Sox.

White Sox are 18-47 in their last 65 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600.
Against The Spread Selection: Seattle Mariners
My reason for the pick :
The Mariners should be able to pick up an easy series home victory over the struggling White Sox who has been bad on the road all season long. The Mariners can’t afford to drop any more games and they will look to bounce back after going 3-8 before the All-Star break. Playing against the White Sox would give the Mariners the opportunity to cut into the lead of the Astros. The Mariners will be looking to set the tone early and make the White Sox play from behind. The Mariners offense will come through for them in this series. The Mariners will end up sweeping the White Sox at home 3-0. The Mariners will be motivated to kick-start this second half of the season in the right direction because they believe that this year the postseason drought will end.
