Pick, Prediction, & Preview:
Miami Marlins vs Tampa Bay Rays
The Tampa Bay Rays roll into Miami’s Tropicana Field on Friday night to take on the Miami Marlins in a three-game series that officially launches the second half of the season for both teams. The Rays are clinging on to third place in the AL East behind two of baseball’s best teams, the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees. The Marlins are currently in fourth place in the NL East.
On the mound for the Marlins is starter Nathan Eovaldi (3-4, 4.59 ERA) vs. Rays starter Dan Straily (3-4, 4.29 ERA) to kick off game one of the series which is sure to be a hotly contested match-up.
Miami Marlins's Latest Performance :
The Miami Marlins are sitting comfortably in fourth place in the NL East coming off of a two-game winning streak pre-All-Star break. They are 13.5 games back behind the first place Philadelphia Phillies who are neck and neck with the Atlanta Braves.
Catcher J.T. Realmuto was the only Marlin to make an appearance (as a reserve) at the All-Star game this past weekend. They will need more than Realmuto if they want to see any playoff action this year.
Tampa Bay Rays's Latest Performance :
The Tampa Bay Rays are currently sitting eighteen games back and on a one-game losing streak before the All-Star break. Chances of them ever moving up in the division are just about zero at this point in the season. Even the playoffs are looking to be a longshot, but there still is half a season to be played and strangers things have happened. To add insult to injury and make matters worse for the team, the recent MLB player poll voted Rays fans as the worst in baseball alongside none other than the Miami Marlins fans.
How Miami Marlins & Tampa Bay Rays Matchup.
Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

Marlins are 52-46 ATS overall
Marlins are 27-24 ATS at home and 25-22 ATS away
In-Depth Analysis of each team:
This should be a decent series as the AL clashes with the NL over three nights. These two teams are fairly evenly matched and if their initial series in Tampa Bay earlier this month is any indication (the Marlins won two of the three games), then this series should be a carbon copy. Two of the three games went extra innings to decide the winner as they split those two games.
