The Marlins will welcome the Braves to Marlins Park as the two teams from the NL East division will go head to head in a 2 game series starting on Monday. The Marlins are 4th in the division while the Braves are 2nd. This will be their third meeting of the season the Braves are currently leading the season series 2-0 over the Marlins.
Game 1: 7:10 PM ET
Game 2: 12:10 PM ET
Atlanta Braves's Latest Performance :
The Braves will cap off their 5 game road trip by playing against the Marlins in a brief two-game series. The Braves are coming off an impressive series victory against the Nationals when playing against the Marlins they will use the opportunity to reclaim themselves as the leader in the NL East division. The Braves have been great on the road this season they are 28-22 when playing away from home. Coming into this series the Braves are 10th in pitching with a 3.84 ERA and 7th in batting with 464 runs scored this season. The future of the this Braves team is brighter than ever and they have a great chance of making the postseason.
Player to watch in this series: Ronald Acuna, he filled up the box score in Friday’s win over the Nationals by going 3-for-4 with a solo homer, a walk, two stolen bases, and three runs scored. He was batting just .212/.255/.404 in 14 games since returning from the disabled list. To see him having a great game on the plate makes me believe that he is just heating up and should play a major factor for the Braves in the second half of the season. Prior to his injury, he was putting up All-Stars numbers. He will be a problem for the Marlins pitchers in this series.
- RBIs: Freddie Freeman (64)
- Homers: Ozzie Albies (20)
- Batting Average: Nick Markakis (.323)
Probable Pitchers for this series:
Game 1: Julio Teheran, he will start off the second half of the season against the Marlins, he finished the first half of the season with a record of 7-6 with a 4.00 ERA and 1.21 WHIP.
Game 2: Max Fried, he will bring his 1-3 record and 3.92 ERA to the mound on Tuesday against the Marlins, he will be coming back from a middle finger blister injury.
Miami Marlins's Latest Performance :
The Marlins will be back at Marlins Park for a 6 game homestand beginning Monday. The homestand opens with a two-game series against the Braves. It hasn’t been a great season for the Marlins although they were able to overtake the Mets for the 4th place in the NL East division and are currently riding a 4 game winning streak the Marlins now have a record of 43-57, they are 23-28 when playing at home this season, playing against the young Braves team will be a challenge for this Miami team because the Braves have been solid on the road all year long. Coming into this series the Marlins are 26th in batting with 382 runs scored this season and 26th in pitching with a 4.72 ERA.
Player to watch in this series: Brian Anderson, he is the team leader in RBIs this season and will look to bounce back after a bad performance in his previous series against the Rays. He is a much better batter when he plays at home in his last home game against the Phillies he went 3-for-5 with a three-run homer. He is slashing .285/.361/.424 with 8 homers and 49 RBIs. We will get to see Anderson at his very best when plays against the Braves in the 2 game series. He will do all he can to keep the winning streak alive against the NL East rivals the Braves.
- RBIs: Brian Anderson (49)
- Homers: Justin Bour (15)
- Batting Average: J.T. Realmuto (.312)
Probable Pitchers for this series:
Game 1: Jose Urena, he will make his return to the mound in the second half of the season against the Braves. He has a 4.39 ERA, a WHIP of 1.22 and a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 89/28.
Game 2: Wei-Yin Chen, he is 2-7 on the season he will close things out for the Marlins against the Braves in the rubber game. He has a 5.75 ERA and 1.50 WHIP over 15 starts.
How Atlanta Braves & Miami Marlins Matchup.
Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:
Marlins are 4-1 in their last 5 vs. a team with a winning record.
Braves are 19-7 in their last 26 vs. National League East.
Against The Spread Selection: Series split at 1-1
My reason for the pick :
Both teams are both on a roll at the moment so It is hard to see that one team will dominate the other so it is fair to say that this 2 game series will end in a 1-1 split. The Braves will come into this series feeling good after beating off the Nationals but they will soon realize that the Marlins are a much-improved team and they have been playing well as of late they are 10-8 on the road since June 5 after a 10-21 start. For the Brave,s they will still be in arms reach of the divisional crown and with Acuna, back in the rotation, it will definitely give them the boost they need after skidding just before the break. The Braves will be a problem once they get back to their very best and everyone is healthy.
Betting trends for Atlanta Braves:
- Braves are 9-4 in their last 13 road games vs. a team with a losing record.
Betting trends for Miami Marlins:
- Marlins are 4-1 in their last 5 overall.
