Pick, Prediction, & Preview:
Minnesota Twins vs Boston Red Sox
The Red Sox will welcome the Twins to Fenway Park as the two teams will go head to head in a four-game series starting on Thursday. The Red Sox are the best team in the Majors while the Twins are 2nd in the AL Central division. This will be their 2nd meeting this season in the first meeting the Twins were able to pull off an upset against the Red Sox at home defeating the Red Sox 2-1.
Game 1-3: 7:10 PM ET
Game 4: 1:05 PM ET
Minnesota Twins's Latest Performance :
The Twins will cap off their 10 game road trip against the Red Sox in a 4 game set. The Twins are 2nd in the AL Central division trailing the leader Indians by 8 1/2 games. The Twins haven’t been great at all on the road this season, they are 16-31 when playing away from home. Coming into this series the Twins are 23rd in pitching with a 4.53 ERA and 18th in batting with 434 runs scored this season. It will be a very challenging task for the Twins to go and play against the Red Sox at home however in their first meeting the Twins were able to pull off a win. The Twins will have to do all they can in the second half of the season to keep their postseason hopes alive.
Player to watch in this series: Logan Morrison, he went 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBI. He was able to put up 3 RBIs on his return from the DL is solid. He will have a chance to prove himself going up against a very strong team like the Red Sox. He has a .195/.288/.375 batting line for the year. Morrison could become the player that can provide help for Rosario. I expect his numbers to go up in the second half of the season.
- RBIs: Eddie Rosario (62)
- Homers: Eddie Rosario (19)
- Batting Average: Eddie Rosario (.305)
Probable Pitchers for this series:
Game 1: Kyle Gibson, he gave up four runs over 5 1/3 innings in a loss to the Royals on Friday. He has a 3.57 ERA through 20 starts with 119 strikeouts in 121 innings. He will be on the mound Thursday against the Red Sox.
Game 2: Lance Lynn, he walked six batters while allowing three runs over five innings in Saturday’s loss to the Royals. He will carry a 5.23 ERA and 1.66 WHIP into a road showdown with the Red Sox on Friday.
Game 3: Jake Odorizzi, he allowed just two runs over six innings with eight strikeouts on Sunday, but took a no-decision against the Royals. He owns a 4.37 ERA and 1.39 WHIP. He will return on the mound Saturday against the Red Sox.
Game 4: Jose Berrios, he will close things off for the Twins in the rubber game against the Red Sox, he is 9-7 on the season with a 3.68 ERA and 1.01 WHIP after 20 starts. He still needs to limit homers when he is on the mound this season and it won’t be easy when he faces off a hard-hitting team like the Red Sox.
Boston Red Sox's Latest Performance :
The Red Sox will be back at Fenway Park for a 10 game homestand beginning on Thursday. The homestand opens with a four-game series against the Twins. The Red Sox have got the best record in the Majors they have already won 71 games this season. The Red Sox also have the best home record they are 34-13 when playing at home this season. It has been a remarkable season for the Red Sox thus far their number one priority for the second half of the season is keeping everyone healthy and ready for the postseason. In Boston, it is winning a World Series or a bust. Coming into this series the Red Sox are the best team in batting with 540 runs scored this season and 3rd in pitching with a 3.53 ERA.
Player to watch in this series: J.D. Martinez, he went 1-for-4 with an RBI single and a stolen base in the Red Sox 5-3 win over the Orioles on Monday. He picked up his major league-leading 82nd RBI with an infield single in the fifth inning. He is having one of his best years since being traded from the Tigers. He is slashing .321/.386/.629 with 72 runs scored and 29 home runs in 409 plate appearances this season. He should play a major factor in the 4 game series against the Twins.
- RBIs: J.D. Martinez (82)
- Homers: J.D. Martinez (29)
- Batting Average: Mookie Betts (.350)

How Minnesota Twins & Boston Red Sox Matchup.
Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:
Red Sox are 40-16 in their last 56 overall.
Twins are 7-1 in their last 8 vs. American League East.
Against The Spread Selection: Boston Red Sox
My reason for the pick :
The Red Sox will get their revenge and tie the season series up at 1-1 against the Twins. The Red Sox has been terrific at home all year long while the Twins can’t figure out a way to win on the road, so it is pretty safe to say that the Red Sox will be able to sweep the Twins at home in a four-game series. The Twins will have no answer for the Red Sox batting and will demolish their pitchers. The Red Sox are 8-2 in their last 10 games and I don’t really see the Twins slowing them down.
The Red Sox to sweep the season series 4-0.
