The Rockies will welcome the A’s to Coors Field as the two teams will go head to head in a 3 interleague series starting on Friday. The Rockies are 3rd in the NL West division while the A’s are 3rd in the AL West division. This will be their first meeting of the season.

Game 1: 8:40 PM ET

Game 2: 8:10 PM ET

Game 3: 3:10 PM ET

Oakland Athletics's Latest Performance :

The Athletics will cap off their 7 game road trip playing against the Rockies in an interleague three-game set. The A’s have now won four straight and are 25-7 over their last 32 games. This season the A’s are a great road team they are 33-21 when playing on the road. They are making one last push to give them the opportunity to play in the postseason. They are now  1 1/2 games behind the Mariners for the second American Leauge Wild Card. It will be a tight contest playing against the Rockies because both teams have been playing really well lately. Coming into this series the A’s are 16th in pitching with a 4.00 and 6th in batting with 488 runs scored this season. With both teams fighting for a postseason spot expect every game to go down to the wire. The A’s have nine wins when trailing after seven innings that is the best in the Majors. They scored 11 straight runs to beat the Rangers.

Player to watch in this series: Khris Davis, he came up clutch for the A’s in his last outing, he was able to strike a three-run home run in the 10th inning of the Athletics’ big comeback victory over the Rangers on Tuesday. Although it was his only hit in the game in proved to be a huge one it ignited the A’s comeback. He will play a major role against the Rockies on the road. This season he is slashing .251/.326/.528 with 72 RBIs and 25 homers. The A’s tend to be on the winning side when Davis plays well.

Team leaders:

  • RBIs: Khris Davis (72)
  • Homers: Kris Davis (25)
  • Batting Average: Jed Lowrie (.280)

Probable Pitchers for this series:

Game 1: Sean Manaea, he held the Giants to two runs over 6 2/3 innings Sunday in a no-decision. He is 9-6 on the season with a 3.38 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, and 88/24 K/BB ratio in 130 1/3 innings. Up next is a tough matchup against the Rockies at Coors Field.

Game 2: Brett Anderson, he allowed two runs on six hits over six innings in the Athletics’ 15-3 win over the Rangers on Monday. He has pitched well in three starts since coming off the disabled list. He will be on the mound Saturday going up against Freeland.

Game 3: Frankie Montas, he allowed four runs three earned over five innings Tuesday, getting a no-decision in the Athletics’ 13-10 extra-innings win. He owns a 3.54 ERA and 1.39 WHIP he will make his return to the mound to close things off for the A’s against the Rockies on Sunday.

Colorado Rockies's Latest Performance :

The Rockies will close out their 5 game homestand against the A’s in a 3 game set. The Rockies will be looking to bounce back after dropping two games in a row after going on a 7 game winning streak. The Rockies are now in 3rd place in the NL West and only trail the division leader the Dodgers by 2 1/2 games. The Rockies started the season not playing well at home they were able to turn things around they are now 23-24 when playing at home this season. Coming into this series the Rockies are 7th in batting with 487 runs scored this season. The only thing that the Rockies will have to improve going forward is their pitching they are ranked 24th with a 4.75 ERA. The Rockies will have to do a better job on the mound when playing against elite teams like the Astros, D-Backs because one bad pitch can change the outcome of the entire game. They gave up 6 runs in the 10th inning.

Player to watch in this series: Carlos Gonzalez, he went 1-for-4 with an RBI double in his last outing he was able to hit a double off of Gerrit Cole. He has definitely bounced back after a slow start he is slashing .277/.327/.471 with  11 home runs and four steals in 297 plate appearances this season. I expect him to heat up in the second half of the season and should play a huge factor in the series against the A’s. Once the Rockies are able to find some consistency on the mound they will be a hard team to beat.

Team leaders:

  • RBIs: Nolan Arenado (72)
  • Homers: Nolan Arenado (25)
  • Batting Average: Nolan Arenado (.309)

Probable Pitchers for this series:

Game 1: German Marquez, he allowed six runs on eight hits over five innings while striking out six against the D-Backs he is now 8-8 on the season with a 5.00 ERA and 1.43 WHIP. His next start will be on Friday against the A’s in the series opener.

Game 2: Kyle Freeland, he allowed four runs on five hits over five innings while taking a no-decision in Saturday’s win over the Diamondbacks. He has a 3.28 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 95/41 K/BB ratio across 120 2/3 frames. He will return to the mound on Saturday against the A’s.

Game 3: Antonio Senzatela, he allowed four runs over 5 2/3 innings in a loss to the Diamondbacks on Sunday. He will close things off for the Rockies in the rubber game. He has a 5.55 ERA and 1.32 WHIP.

How Oakland Athletics & Colorado Rockies Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

Rockies are 7-1 in their last 8 overall.

Athletics are 24-7 in their last 31 overall.

Against The Spread Selection: Oakland Athletics

My reason for the pick :

This series will go down to the wire in all three games. The A’s are riding a 4 game winning streak and while the Rockies have been solid winning 7 of their last 9 games. The momentum will be on the A’s side and they have been great on the road all season long. It will be a great batting battle against the Arenado and Davis with both teams struggling from the mound the both of the team batters will have to be on their A game to pull out this series victory. The team home and road record will decide the outcome of this series. The Rockies are 23-24 at home while the A’s are 33-21 on the road. The Rockies Achilles’ heel is playing against teams that are great on the plate and the A’s are coming into this series being 6th best in the league when it comes to batting. As the season progress, the Rockies will have to do a better job at controlling the mound because they will be taken advantage of against teams that have great batters like the Athletics.

The Athletics to win on the road against the Rockies 2-1.

Betting trends for Oakland Athletics:

  • Athletics are 22-8 in their last 30 road games.

Betting trends for Colorado Rockies:

  • Rockies are 4-0 in their last 4 home games vs. a right-handed starter.
