Pick, Prediction, & Preview:
Cleveland Indians vs Minnesota Twins
The Minnesota Twins will play host to the Cleveland Indians at Target Field on Monday night in an AL Central match-up. Cleveland has dominated MLB’s worst division the entire season but the surging Twins will have something to say about that.
Minnesota will start veteran right-hander Ervin Santana (0-0, 5.40 ERA) in the first game of a three-game series against Cleveland ace Shane Bieber (5-2, 4.80 ERA).
Cleveland Indians's Latest Performance :
The Cleveland Indians have looked dominant this season in the AL Central. There’s an obvious reason for that. That begs the question, are they even that good? They have gone 5-5 in their last ten and split a recent four-game series against the Yankees but turned around and lost games to Texas and an above average Padres team. They had to bring in All-Star righty Trevor Bauer to stop a Padre sweep on Wednesday night in that series.
The Indians have a lot to prove and come playoff time, that will be their true litmus test.
Minnesota Twins's Latest Performance :
Minnesota may be under .500 but are sitting in second place in the lowly AL Central division. Currently sitting seven games back, they have won their last four and have picked up some momentum coming out the All-Star break. Like many teams, the Twins are diligently developing their youth and hot prospects in an effort to reshape the franchise and become a contender. Can they get it together in time this season to catch the Indians? Only time will tell.

In-Depth Analysis of each team:
This match-up is classic first place against second place. This is a crucial series for both teams as are any series until the end of the regular season. The Twins are hoping the Indians hit a rough patch at some point but this is an opportunity the for Twins to add those defeats directly to Cleveland’s loss column and gain some ground. Beiber vs. Santana will be an interesting game one match-up on the mound and should be fairly indicative of the outcome of the series moving forward.
