Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

Milwaukee Brewers vs Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers will welcome the Brewers to Dodger stadium as the two teams will go head to head in a four-game series starting on Monday. The Dodgers are leading the NL West division while the Brewers are second in the NL Central division. This will be their second meeting of the season in the first meeting the Dodgers took out the Brewers 2-1 on the road.

Game 1-3: 10:10 PM ET

Game 4: 9:10 PM ET

Milwaukee Brewers 's Latest Performance :

The Brewers will cap off their 8 game NL West road trip against the Dodgers in a 4 game set. The Brewers now only trail the Cubs 1 1/2 games. They are 27-25 when playing away from home. Coming into this series the Brewers are 6th in pitching with a 3.65 ERA and 17th in batting with 457 runs scored this season. There hasn’t been a lot of offense coming from the Brewers this season the acquisition of Mike Moustakas from the Royals will give them the offensive boost they have been lacking all season long. It is a great move by the Brewers front office as they make a push for the postseason.

Player to watch in this series: Mike Moustakas, will take over as the third base for the Brewers while Travis Shaw shifts over to second base. He will be reunited with longtime former teammate Lorenzo Cain. I expect him to put up big numbers on the road against the Dodgers. It is a great opportunity for him to show that the Brewers didn’t make a mistake trading for him. He is hitting .249/.309/.468 with 20 homers and 62 RBI on the season. It is always great to see Moustakas finally on a winning team after putting up huge numbers with the Royals.

Team leaders:

  • RBIs: Jesus Aguilar (72)
  • Homers: Jesus Aguilar (25)
  • Batting Average: Christain Yelich (.314)

Probable Pitchers for this series:

Game 1: Freddy Peralta, he allowed four hits and seven runs over six innings Wednesday in the Brewers’ loss to Washington. He is 4-2 on the season with a 3.74 ERA and 1.02 WHIP. He will be on the mound Monday against the Dodgers.

Game 2: Wade Miley, he surrendered two runs on six hits over five innings while taking a no-decision in Thursday’s win over the Giants. He’ll carry a 2.01 ERA and 1.39 WHIP into a matchup against the Dodgers on Tuesday.

Game 3: Chase Anderson, he allowed just one run over six innings in a 3-1 victory over the Giants on Friday. He is allowing no more than two runs in seven straight starts. He will bring his 3.81 ERA and 1.20 WHIP to the mound on Wednesday against the Brewers.

Game 4: Jhoulys Chacin, he will close things off for the Brewers in the rubber game against the Dodgers on Thursday he is 9-3 on the season with a 3.58 ERA and 1.23 WHIP. He will be going up against Clayton Kershaw.

Los Angeles Dodgers's Latest Performance :

The Dodgers will be back at Dodger Stadium for a 7 game homestand beginning on Monday. The homestand opens with a four-game series against the Brewers. The Dodgers are 28-24 when playing at home this season. The Dodgers are starting look like contenders can be a major threat to plenty of teams in the NL division they have won 4 of their last 6 games, they have definitely turned their season around after a shaky start to the year. Coming into this series the Dodgers are 7th in batting with 494 runs scored this season and now 3rd best in pitching with a 3.51 ERA. Playing against a strong team like the Brewers will give the Dodgers the opportunity to see what they can improve on as the Dodgers make a push into the postseason.

Player to watch in this series: Manny Machado, he is starting to get comfortable with his new team. He was able to follow up his solo homer in his last outing with two hits from the plate. He is hitting .311/.385/.566 with 25 homers, 67 RBI and 51 runs scored overall. He is starting to be more like himself on the plate after struggling the first few games with the Dodgers. It is just a matter of time that he will heat up. I expect him to play well in the series against the Brewers. Machado will play a major role in the Dodgers postseason chances.

Team leaders:

  • RBIs: Manny Machado (67)
  • Homers: Manny Machado (25)
  • Batting Average: Matt Kemp (.311)

Probable Pitchers for this series:

Game 1: Kenta Maeda, he was great in the first 6 innings holding the Phillies to just three hits, no walks, and one run. He was unfortunate when he gave up the lead to the Phillies allowing Alfaro to hit a 2 run homer. He is 7-5 on the season with a 3.27 ERA and 1.20 WHIP. He returns to the mound on Monday.

Game 2: Walker Buehler, he gave up five runs in 4 2/3 innings Wednesday in a loss to the Phillies. The rookie is doing a great job of sticking around in the rotation he is now 4-3 on the season with a 3.92 ERA and 1.10 WHIP. He will return to the mound on Tuesday.

Game 3: Rich Hill, he struck out eight batters against the Braves in his last outing, allowing no runs in seven innings. He will try to make it three wins in a row against the Brewers on Wednesday.

Game 4: Clayton Kershaw, he allowed just one run in a season-high 7 2/3 innings in a 4-1 win over the Braves on Friday and scored 2 RBIs.  He holds a 2.52 ERA and 91/17 K/BB ratio in 89 1/3 innings through 15 starts on the year. He will be on the mound in the rubber game against the Brewers.

How Milwaukee Brewers & Los Angeles Dodgers Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

Dodgers are 25-12 in their last 37 vs. a team with a winning record.

Brewers are 15-4 in their last 19 vs. National League West.

Against The Spread Selection: Los Angeles Dodgers

My reason for the pick :

The Dodgers will be able to beat out the Brewers at home 3-1. Both teams are fighting for a place in the postseason and all four games will go down to the wire. It will be a great batting display between Moustakas and Machado. Both players will look to thrive on their new team. One of the reasons why I have the Dodgers winning this series over the Brewers is because of the Dodgers elite pitching in these last few games they have really stepped it up on the mound. The Brewers also got a terrific pitching depth but the talent wise isn’t at the Dodgers level quite yet. Both the Brewers and the Dodgers will have an opportunity to pull out some pointers from this series and make their team better as the season progresses. Teams that have great pitchers will always have the upper hand when the games come down to the wire both the Brewers and Dodgers have that. Manny will be the X-Factor in this series and will lead the Dodgers to a second consecutive series win.

The Dodgers to beat out the Brewers 3-1 at home.

Betting trends for Milwaukee Brewers :

  • Brewers are 4-9 in their last 13 overall.

Betting trends for Los Angeles Dodgers:

  • Dodgers are 41-20 in their last 61 overall.
