Los Angeles Angels vs Tampa Bay Rays
On Tuesday night, the Los Angeles Angels roll into town to take on the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field to set off a three-game series match-up. The Angels launched their season with some flair and pizazz. Ohtani was the centerpiece and front page news on every sports website in America. After and injury sidelined him, all bets were off. The Rays have been solid and have held their own in one of MLB’s toughest divisions.
On the mound to get things going is Tampa Bay right-hander Nathan Eovaldi (3-4, 4.26 ERA) going up against Angels pitching ace Tyler Skaggs (8-6, 2.62 ERA).
Los Angeles Angels's Latest Performance :
The Los Angeles Angels came out of the gate on fire. Shohei Ohtani was a human highlight reel and was living up to the hype…until he got hurt. That seemed to have changed the trajectory of this team and they haven’t recovered since. They have slid into fourth place in the West and have gone 4-6 in their last ten. Ohtani is throwing harder, more often, and looking to get back on the mound in the near future. He’s been hitting about average at .250 with three homers since his return.
Tampa Bay Rays's Latest Performance :
Tampa Bay is in a dogfight from here until the end of the season. They are sandwiched between a great Yankees team and a mediocre Toronto Blue Jays team who are nine games from reaching .500, but are dangerous enough to cause issues for anyone in the division.
Tampa Bay is on a two-game win streak after going 5-5 in their last ten which is some much needed positive energy. Chances of the catching the Cubs (or Yankees for that matter) at 17.5 games back is highly improbable.

In-Depth Analysis of each team:
This won’t be an easy series for either team. Tampa Bay beat up on the Angels in their first meeting this season 3-1 with some dominant wins back in May. To kick off the series, Tyler Skaggs could give the Rays some headaches, but these two teams will come to play. They both are in desperate need of wins. The Angels have to stop the bleeding at some point and turn things around. With the return of Ohtani in a few weeks, maybe that will happen, but not in this series.
