San Francisco Giants vs Arizona Diamondbacks

The San Francisco Giants visit the Arizona Diamondbacks on Thursday night for the start of a four-game series in the NL West at Chase Field. The last time these two teams clashed was at the end of June in Arizona for a three-game series that the Giants swept outscoring the Diamondbacks 18-7 in the process.

To kick off this divisional match-up, the Diamondbacks will start pitching ace Zack Greinke (12-5, 2.96 ERA) against Giants pitcher Madison Bumgarner (3-4, 3.06 ERA)

San Francisco Giants's Latest Performance :

The San Francisco Giants are fortunately well ahead of the San Diego Padres and just five back from the third-place Colorado Rockies. They have managed to go 3-7 in their last ten, but are on a one-game streak going into their next series. Time is of the essence if the Giants want to make a run at a possible playoff birth. They have two teams sitting between them and the first place Dodgers with a third of the season to go. It’s now or never for the Giants.

Arizona Diamondbacks's Latest Performance :

The Arizona Diamondbacks have finally caught up to the Los Angeles Dodgers and are currently keeping pace at on a half game back. They have gone 6-4 in their last ten with a sweep of the San Diego Padres in that stretch. They also had some help from reliever Brad Boxberger who snagged his 25th save of the season. They’ll need all the help they can get to keep up and possibly move ahead of the Dodgers. Their current three-game win streak should give them some much-needed confidence.
